| My yorkie is almost 3 yrs. old. I feed her twice a day and she has always seemed satisfied. All of a sudden she is wanting more food and looks like she is gaining weight. Any reasons why this is happening? |

| Her tummy hasn't been upset? No diarrhea? If either of these has been happening, I would have her checked for pancreatitis.

| She has been spayed and she doesn't seem to have an upset stomach. She just acts hungry. |

| Uncontrollable hunger was the main symptom my Maltese mix exhibited before she was diagnosed with Cushings disease. Hunger, extreme thirst, weight gain, and lethargy. The regular blood panel was fine and the vet insisted I was overfeeding her and that's why the weight gain and why she was always hungry. I persisted and had a urine test for her cortisol level and then an acth stim test, and then an ultrasound. At the age of 4 she was diagnosed with pituary cushings. Her appetite is somewhat less since being put on Trilostane. Not saying that's what is wrong with your baby - just wanted you to know that extreme hunger is a sign of Cushings disease. I wish I had know about it sooner. |

| A few weeks back I was going through the same exact thing with Julie Anna. She ate 2 times a day. Ate all of her food but after eating she would try eating all of the other 5 pups left overs if any were left. If I was eating something she acted like she was starving. All of the time. After a few days I knew this was not good for her. I took her to the vet to have a complete check up with blood work, xray. Everything came back great. Come to find out she had refux. The vet put her on 1/4 of a tab of Pepcid. It took 2 days and she is much better. In 2 months she gained 1 lb. I took her back to the vet and she has already lost 9 oz. I am so happy she is feeling better. Good luck trying to find out the problem. I know what you are going through.
