Best Type of Leash/Harness? ..story inside

I'm so sorry! I have a dog whom also is a master of leash breaking...I now use for all my dogs a small chain link metal leash...I do have a Flexi for my Yorkie Elvis, but after Scoobers broke (I'm serious) 9 Flexis, two brained rope, and countless other I went for metal chain links-I'll never go back.

They do make them very light weight with small links yet very strong...of course they have them in all sizes appropriate for all sizes of dogs...be sure the handle and clasp on it are equally as strong...mine are leather and replaceable...I bought them on eBay for a fraction of the price I can get them locally.

As far as a harness I'm going to be buying dog shirts with D-rings but I do also use several types of harnesses here-some are braided thick nylon (not thin which will irritate fur and skin constantly rubbing) I also have a couple made by lady locally and I have the cheapo four paws one because they are breathable and comfortable-the locally made one are basically an imitation but o higher quality.

Biggest concern with a harness is not only it' strength but that it fits properly to prevent discomfort and escape!

I'm so very sorry for what has happened!!! I HIGHLY recommend the Buddy Belt. I have a VERY active puppy Reesie and he has gotten out of his Puppia soft step in harness but has not been able to get out of his Buddy Belt (BB). Plus the BB is no where near his fragile little neck. It is so well made, and very much worth the price as it's on the expensive side!!

I use the same kind. We have had to pull her up very fast before and with those d rings there the harness doesn't open. Sara Jane is only 3 3/4 pounds.

It is also very important to inspect any harness and leash periodically for wear- if anything is coming loose or looks frayed or worn in any way- it is time to invest in something new.
