| I'd wait until your puppy was at least 12 wks and that is still a bit soon. I would suggest cleaning her with a warm wash cloth. I'd also not use baby wipes.

| As a breeder I start bathing at 4 to 6 weeks and every week after that so the puppy is well trained to grooming when the owner gets it. No puppy should leave a breeder in need of a bath...if your vet finds your puppy to be healthy..bath it now...use a blow dryer to make sure it is totally dry...comb any tangles out first. Yorkies, when properly cared for do not smell like the average dog..they should be failry odorless. |

| That's a youngin'. I bathed my new baby (12 weeks old YT) already, and while he didn't seem to like the water at first he was fine with a little TLC. I filled up the basin with a little water and used a washcloth and baby shampoo. I avoided getting water in his ears and eyes, and cooed at him the entire time to keep him calm. Good luck on bath time...

| You love that baby, don't you? I just looked at your pic's and she is cute!!! Her breeder let her go WAY to early. Has she had any shots? Have you taken her to the vet? Did she give any advice on hypoglycemia? I am sorry for all the questions and I hope the person you got her from has filled you in on some things. This is a wonderful site with great people. I wish you the best for you and your little one. |

| Be sure to get a vet check for her..parasites, inside and out. Make sure she has no fleas..they have to be removed asap..The reason my puppies have had so many baths by the time the new owner gets them is...they do not leave until 12 to 16 weeks...and the new owner has no trouble with unruly bath haters..LOL |

| Sweetimani Its ok to ask me any question trust me you guys are awsome i would have been lost without your help. Since i just got her this Sat i havent look for a vet yet im in the process of searching for one just dont know where to take her yet. the breeder gave her the first shots and some kind of deworming thingy thru her mouth, as she said. one thing that im concern about is that she told me to feed her Eukanuba puppy food and a petco associate told me that was garbage food and that to slowly try to mix canin puppy food until she gets used to it because that brand was the best. i hope this is true bc i dont want to give my baby anything thats going to make her sick. about the dry shampoo i think thats a great idea.other than that she is so smart she's useing the wee pad already and she knows that Meil-li is her name also very active i luv her so much Thanks a million |

As for bathing, as long as you are careful not to get water in the ears and to introduce the bath gently and slowly, you should be fine. Good luck to you!

| My Charlie is 7.5 weeks old now but has been getting a bath since 5 weeks. We use organic puppy shampoo and make sure to thoroughly dry him and brush him afterwards. No problems so far, except for the fact that nothing can make him like bath time! I've tried everything!! I think he just hates being wet, like a kitten!!! |
