You are kidding right? I take in pups all of the time and have them spayed..I don't wait four weeks to find out if they are pregnant.

| She is way too old to be pregnant take her in now and have her spayed if you care about her. Isnt this the 2nd time you have thought she was pregnant. Then people told you to have her spayed right away and you didnt listen so I doubt you do this time. I think having pups to you means more than your yorkies life or it would already be done. I have nothing positive to say to you it is your fault this has happened again

| Nope. I wasn't kidding, you misread, again...guessing I did now too on this one. I thought I read she had taken the dog in for an abortion...and meant she had to wait 4 weeks for the after care check and the spay appointment... I'm guessing by the post below now that's not what she meant... Quote:

| Sounds like you might be playing russian roulette w/your poor little senior lady...As long as you do the pre-op bloodwork, there shouldn't be a reason, on the planet, not to get her spayed now...Why put her through all those hormonal changes in her body (if she's pregnant), and get her spayed in 4 weeks?...And, if she isn't pregnant, you won't be putting her at risk, in the future, w/a possiblity of an unwanted pregnancy, since it's happened twice now...just sayin' |

| Is the original poster in the US? I don't recognize the location. I'm thinking in some places they do use an injectable drug to abort? Just not really considered safe, so we don't use it here? And who knows how long you have to wait to spay after one of those...? She should have been spayed, but maybe it doesn't work that way where the OP is? I'll take another geography class if the OP's city listed is in the US. lol.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | The OP is from the UK. People have different reasons as to why they decide to spay or not spay their pets. I havnt had Poppy spayed yet which I have already discussed here, I do not want to breed her but I am worried about putting her under an anesthetic. It sounds as if the OP is taking the vets advice by not continuing with the pregnancy. But maybe there is a reason why the OP dosnt want to put her 10 year old under an anesthetic, it is a hard decision to make.. but seen as your dog is now pregnant then it is one you are going to have to make quickly. I wish you luck with your girl and hope you have everything sorted soon.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Rachael, is it a common thing to do a chemical termination in the UK? If so, what do they use?
