| Memphis had his neuter yesterday.... Well it's all over and thank goodness. The surgery went well, they also removed two remaining baby teeth. I thought he would be much more groggy or irritable last night but he was fine, slept well and has been eating fine. The challenge is more trying to keep his activity limited and that darn cone. He hates the cone and it is annoying as it makes it hard for him to eat and everytime he goes outside he comes back with it full of snow...an official "snow cone". It's just nice to have the neuter and all the shots behind us now. He just needs a rabies shot when he's old enough. Oh, and they weighed him of course and he tops the scale at 5lbs even at 7 mos of age. I hope he stays around this size, it's perfect. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Glad to hear Memphis is doing well after his surgery. If he doesn't bother with the stitches you can try leaving the cone off when you are watching him. I have a soft one on hand from MomtoHotRod a YT member just in case.

| I had my Yorkie neutered a couple of weeks ago. The cone they gave was too big so we didn't use it. It didn't look like he was messing with the incision site so I didn't worry about it. Well, it ended up getting infected so we got a smaller cone and put it on him while it healed. He sleeps with us at night and the cone was annoying. We took a sock and cut two holes in the toe for his legs and put it on him like underwear. It worked great! At least he had a reprieve from the cone at night. Then the sock went missing, so instead of making another one, I bought a baby Onesie at Walmart for $2 to put on him. That worked okay for awhile, but sometime in the night he managed to work his way out of it through the neck hole! It was a 0-3 month size...He is 5 lbs so I think maybe a preemie size may have worked better. Just some ideas to give your pup a break from the cone. |

| There is no reason you shouldn't do it. My vet said as long at the dog was 5 lbs. it was okay. In the long run, it's better for the health of your dog if you do it. |
