I use oxyfresh again on savannah since I used this on my binky and she had amazing teeth even at 11 she never had a dental and one of my dog show friends got me started on this early in her life.

I like it because its sugar free and if they fuss too much you can just rub it around on their top and bottom gum area.

I also didn't buy that toothbrush they had listed though I was tempted...I opted to continue using the finger toothbrushes which is easier for one handed brushing that is for sure.

I used to bathe binky once a week and use this oxyfresh every time.

I did some some other stuff at the petstore last week but again I figured I'd stick with this since i think it really did work well for me in the past.

My new tubes arrived yesterday I got one small one for my daughters pom and that large tube will last you eons it only takes a bit on that finger brush to get the job done.

I consider it great success it got rid of savannahs horrible breath even this morning when she shared some kisses it was fine.

I did use it again after she ate dinner hoping it will help her and read it was ok to use it as much as I wanted..then I'll go back to my once a week once she gets her dental done.

scary for me my binky never had a dental and they always said what amazing teeth she had..lol

so, did you ever try it? and how did it work?

Joel has a Snoopy toddler toothbrush, and Petrodex toothpaste. I just do a mixture of using my finger with toothpaste for the back teeth and then use his toothbrush. His teeth are still white:D

I use plaqu attack...maybe the water pik (Derik's).
I tried the arm and hammer sensative brissle disposible because of the small round soft head (I recenrly started brushing with coconut oil) so far it is great and inexpensive.

I have also tried some banana peel flesh (the inside part) great safe natural whitener.

i wanted to use a water pik on them lol, i dont think they will stay still for it though, i will have to duct tape them to the wall lol. what does coconut oil do?

I use little kid toothbrushes of the yorkies since they have tiny mouths. Present brushes are Spiderman- Next is Barbie.

Buddy gets a regular adult soft toothbrush- Blue, Black, Red. Any color but Pink since my toothbrush always is pink!

They get regular baking soda and a little water to make there paste!

I bought a baby toothbrush for Katie made by Radius. Thr handle is a little short but I find it is better than the ones made for dogs.

I don't think the original poster intended her question to be interpreted as do you share your toothbrush with your dog. I think it is safe to say that most people (if not all) do not share a toothbrush with their dog. :p

I use a small CET tooth brush for Callie and CET tooth paste. Yellow is tarter.

I use cocnut oil for yeast control here but read on YT posted by otgees about using it on teeth, so I'm just trying it on Elvis, he will have several teeth extracted when he can safely go under anesethia, I can't say it's helping or hindering other than he breath seems better after so far.

The vet gave us a toothbrush. It's very small and has a little loop on the end for your fingers to slip in. Bailey isn't a fan of having his teeth brushed, but it's really not his call. ;-)

worked out for her, she posed a year ago i beleive.

I forgot to add what my vet dentist said she said the teeth all the way in the back are kind of on a curve so make sure you get those little guys hiding back there. She also suggested brushing daily or if you do it once a week to make sure you are putting something on there like oravet. Also yall please make sure you read the ingredients and make sure there is nothing toxic to dogs in it because there are things made for dogs that have stuff in them that are toxic.

Dental Care for Yorkies ? These little guys often retain baby teeth which have to be pulled and that is the easiest thing about Yorkie tooth care. :D Routine dental checks by your Vet, to assess the bite and condition of a puppies teeth is only the beginning of life long care their teeth will need. Toy dogs are notorious for dental problems.
Veterinarian Dentistry has really grown in the last decade. Things that were only for people are now routinely available for dogs too. Now we know more and most of us try to take care of our babies teeth. With good dental care most Yorkies can keep their teeth their whole life.
My Vet recommends daily brushing with a soft child's tooth brush and dog tooth paste. Each pup needs their own tooth brush which should be replaced every 3 to six months. Only tooth paste made for dogs, should be used. Human tooth paste is not designed to be swallowed and cause a digestive upset. My Vet also recommends dental chews 3 times a week and professional teeth cleaning as needed. (Younger Yorkies seem to need dental cleaning about every 2 years or so. Older Yorkies probably yearly to avoid gum disease and tooth loss.)
As a trainer I suggest beginning dental care from day one, just make it part of your routine grooming. :D
