| I swear I am gonna have a breakdown This little guy of mine is worrying me as much as I worried over my kids when they was babies. I had him at the vet yesterday got the special purina EN food and forti flora stuff. They said stress was the likely problem, well he took to the can food happily at the 4 and 9 feeding but this morning no way. I tried everything even warming his food thinking he didn't want it cold, still would not eat it. Still having the diarrhea so I gave him a lick of nutri cal before I left for my Dr appointment. Then while in town I went over to the vet office to discuss the pups behavior and and what else I could do and then they mention possible parvo...needless to say my tears came at that, he has not stepped foot on outside ground nor been anywhere but the breeders home and the vet office. They told me to come home and give him more nutri cal and then try to feed him again which I did. It took around half hour to get him to finally eat his 7 am feeding. The nutri cal kicked in and my little guy was running wild thru the frontroom attacking his toys. He did potty again and I am relieved that it is showing signs of forming up so I am hopefull that we are heading towards recovery and that there is no parvo. I am to watch him closely the vet said and use the nutri cal to encourage him to eat if he won't otherwise. I love him to pieces but there is a part of me that is wishing I would not have gotten another pup so soon after the loss of my Asia. I truely do not think I could handle it again. |

| Awww I'm so sorry for what you are going through I'm sure he's just adjusting to being in a new place, my pup would hardly ever eat and it worried me too but he was still healthy as a fiddle. Keep us updated and I hope he perks up soon!!

| My dog was 12 weeks when I brought him home. The breeder said he was a good eater. Well, he really wasn't too interested in food when I first brought him home. I had to literally put him in the pen and keep pushing the food bowl in front of him. I was mixing wet and dry food. Eventually he just started eating and I was able to just feed him dry food with no problem. I was feeding 3 times a day but at about 5 months I went to twice a day and he is more eager to eat now. |

| I don't understand why any Vet. or Vet. tec. would EVER "guess" at what could be the problem with a dog. My Vet. won't say a word about anything till the dog is checked out completely. He's so young to be away from the mom and you really are going to have to keep a very close eye on him. Maybe this is a good time to start building up good eating habits by home cooking.

| they can sure worry us with the no eating part. My new rescue played food stand off for 2 days. I have her on dick van pattens natural balance the grain free wet stuff. and picky yep she prefers chicken only now and tomorrow I'll have had her 3 weeks she has me owned. I warm hers up if its been in the fridge for about 9 secs with my super powerful microwave and stir it well with a fork....to avoid any hot spots and use my tiny pyrex bowls to put it in. she has ate the buffalo flavor then decided to make gag noises the 2nd time I gave it to her to refusing to eat it..same with the fish /duck and venison the vet said the food was fine to feed her when I brought a can to talk about how much to feed her since it didn't have weight that low on the can. right now she needs some weight on her so if she eats chicken & sweet potato only...I'm doing it because like you I'd be in breakdown mode its so hard to be a yorkie mama but sooooo worth it keep in mind they are super smart and are training you without you even knowing it..lol |

| Did your Vet check for Cocci? I haven't even weaned my babies at 8 1/2 weeks old, so I'm sure stress has a lot to do with it. Most don't let babies go to new homes until they are 12 weeks old, and still can be stressful. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I hope he gets better quickly. |

| yes he was checked for cocci negative...as for smell let me tell you this little guy is rank and I have mentioned it several times to the vets at the clinic, even when he passes gas it is bad. They seem not concerned with that part of it. He seemed to feel better this evening and very hungy for dinner. He has had 2 semi loose stools today....he also much to his dislike got his first mini bath, just washed his paws and bottom half with baby soap as I didn't want to fully wet him down til healthy. |

I would bring your furbaby back to your vet (or perhaps another vet for a second opinion).

| When I got Teegy he was 10 weeks and he was timid for the first day and a bit and I hand fed him kibble every few hours he drank water no problem. I figured that way I could bond and he would get used to my scent at the same time. Well day three arrived and it was like, realease the hounds. Got him a squeaky toy and it's been my zany little monkey ever since. I was on three weeks vacation time when I got him, so I was able to keep an eye on him all the time. |
