Hello. I am the founder of a local animal rescue and save shelter dogs through transports to other states. While picking up some shelter dogs, we came across this sweet little guy that was actually a victim of a local Yorkie puppy mill. He was only 3 mos old and has a slight deformity (his head seems to stay tipped to one side) and he had a hernia so the PM decided to get rid of him at the shelter. I immediately fell in love with this little guy and (even though I have Rotties) took him home to live with my pack.

I have a tone of questions and look forward to being a member of this lovely group. Since I am only used to big dogs, I will be on here frequently.

Here is a picture of Spike being held by Cesar Millan when he came to help us load the bus on one of our transports.

hi and welcome to yt, thats amazin work you do for other poor dogs, you will find a lot of knowlegable people here, your baby is gorgeous

ceaser milan is amazing and handsome lol

Love the pic! Welcome to YT! You might find the little yorkie has the same mentality as your rotties!! I know my Tulip thinks she's the 'biggest dog in our house'...Our large dog..Dakota weighs around 90lbs...Tulip loves to boss her around!!!

Hello and welcome to YT. You have definitely come to the right place to learn all you can about Yorkies. Thank you for being so kind to Spike and taking him home to live with you. Looking forward to more pictures of Spike.

Awww what a sweet boy you have and how great of you to take him in and give him a home! You will learn a lot from this site, I know I sure have! Congrats on your new addition!

You are in the right place for all there is to know about Yorkies. (Ha) Thanks for doing what you do to help out the pups in need. That one sure is a cutie.

Thank you so much for your warm and kind welcome. I am certain that I will be here daily. The only question I have is about the grooming of his butt area. As I mentioned, I am used to Rotties who really have no hair that creates a problem when they finish their "business". How do you keep that area free from poop?

Take a small pair of scissors and cut the hair around the anus very short. Your little guy is adorable by the way
