| He needs the vet...and he will no doubt have tapeworms..they come from flea swallowing...stool check may be negative, but tapes rarely show in a stool sample.. He is too young, but what is done is done...please take him to the vet. |

| Dont use anymore flea shampoos he is way too young and some of those shampoos are so potent it could kill a pup. Give him a warm bath and put dawn dishsoap on him and leave on for 5 mins then rinse. You may have to do this a couple of times if he is really infested. Then wrap him up in a towel thats been warmed in the dryer. I cant stress this eenough your pup is like a china doll right now extremely fragile, young and tiny. You need to have some nutrical on hand in case your pup has a sugar crash also you need to keep him eating like every three hours. A reputable breeder would have kept the pup untill twelve weeks and fleas can kill a pup by making it anemic. I cant stress enoughy that this little pup is now your full time job untill he gets bigger and sturdier

| Also make sure you dont overtire your pup and get him in for a vet check right away. I dont mean to alarm you but we have seen quite a few people on here lose pups that were older than yours lately so you must be dilligent in your pups care

| I thought 6 weeks was a little young for him to be seperated from his mom but I rather I get him and know that he will be well taken care of rather than some one else.. I have been feeding him science diet melting it in hot water making it soft I offer it to him at least every 3 hours. He does not eat but a couple of bites and then is full. The lady told me that she had to bottle feed them at 2 days old because something was wrong with the mothers milk? However he will be going to my vet tomoro to get checked out. My last yorkie I got was also 6 weeks also when I got him |

| I got Neo when he was way too young (6wks, also) and even though I have done everything possible to make sure he thrives, he is really pretty fragile. He will be 2 years old soon, but he has allergy issues and some behavior issues that his daddy and I are trying to get a handle on. It can't be stressed enough that a pup that young is going to have to be your #1 priority, day and night! At least you have one MAJOR plus going for you-this forum! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You've gotten some good advice here. First, congrats on your new baby and WELCOME to YT. I am really glad you found us because your new yorkie is truly at risk right now . Not only was he taken from his Mom wayyyyyy too early, but he has fleas (dangerous at such a vulnerable age), he was vaccinated TOO early, he was vaccinated when his immune system is fighting something already. He needs to see a vet ASAP -- as in, tomorrow is not soon enough - to be frank. Exactly what vaccines were given? Don't bathe him anymore -- keep him warm, hydrated, and fed - and get to a vet asap. If he gets shaky or weak - give some Karo Syrup, Nutrical, or even pancake syrup in an emergency. You should keep Nutrical on hand at all times for puppies, imo.

| I went ahead and brought the pup to the vet earlier today and he is in good health although he tested him for worms and he had hook worms he treated him for those and tape worms since he had fleas so bad he also got treated for the fleas with advantage he said to bring him back when he is 9 weeks of age to boost his shots in the mean time he will be watched with a close eye! |
