| could my yorkie be part silky terrier? so this question has been in my head for some time... it first came to me when i watched the thanksgiving dog show. my scout seemed to look more like the silky terrier they presented than the yorkie! scout weighs in at about 13 pounds. he was sold to my mother as a yorkshire terrier, but she got him at a pet store so i guess you can never be too sure! hmm...well take a look at the attatched pictures and tell me what you think! any silky characteristics? how does he compare? whatever he is, it really doesn't matter to me. i love him to death <3 |

| Scout looks like a Yorkie to me. You can usually see the Silky come through most in the eyes and the ears- I just don't see it in Scout. Either way Scout is gorgeous!

| Oh wow! your dog looks just like mine, and I signed up with the very same question! My dog came from a pet store in vegas originally, and was surrendered to a pound just a few months later. He also weighs about 13lbs. Maybe our dogs came from the same breeder/mill. |

| He looks like a beautiful YORKIE!! he's just what some consider a 'teapot' yorkie....being over the standard 7 lbs! Yorkies have been known to weigh up to 20 lbs. some more..

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We have both yorkies and silkies in our home! Your pup is precious but I agree with everyone else - yorkie!! I correct silky should be longer than tall (rectangle) and has a longer snout (but can really vary how much longer) and their eyes are almond shaped.
