Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Barking hour For the past 5 nights Scarlett has started barking and growling at every little noise (and some things we can't hear) from about 11 pm till well after midnight. I've tried holding her, getting up and watching TV with her, even really vigorous play about 10 o'clock trying to wear her out, with no success. Any suggestions? I'm tired because it takes me a good hour or so after she finally settles down for me to fall asleep, and our alarm goes off at 6 a.m.

| Do you have any idea what starts it? Can she hear other dogs outside? How about giving her a really hard playtime sometime between 10 and 11 and see if she'll go to sleep and stay asleep then?

| Try an "ambient noise" maker in the room where she sleeps. I run a fan in my bedroom at night so that the boys don't hear every little sound from outside.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Well, the last couple of nights have been a little better. She still barks at every little noise my daughter makes in the bedroom above us, though. At first I wondered if it was deer or something else outside, but when she starts barking Rhett just rolls over and looks at her like "what the heck is your problem?"

| Ah! It's coming from above! She probably thinks you have ghosts.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I wish I could blame it all on my daughter. But she generally doesn't get home from work until around MN, long after the barking hour has begun.
