Funny little things your yorkie does... What are some of the funny little things your yorkie does? Here are a few things which Poppy does most days... 1. She picks up ANY sock she sees. At night I usually take my socks off and leave them on the floor, then I put them in the washing basket in the morning (im lazy I know :p) but every single morning Poppy picks one up and runs to see my mum with it, just like shes bringing her a gift. 2. She sits like a meerkat when she wants something, she can stay like that for ages too! She has also started to stand on two legs when she opens doors, pushing the doors open with her two front paws. 3. She dosnt like my BF having eyes. He is the only person she does this to, but every time she sees him she jumps ontop of him and lick attacks his eyes. 4. When I carry her she wraps her two back legs around my hip just like a little kid will do when you carry them on your hip. 5. She barks at her own reflection in windows but not in mirrors. Weird. 6. She loves the shower! Every time she walks past the bathroom she runs in and jumps in the shower. 7. When we are out for a walk and she walks past a parked car she goes down on the floor really low and kind of goes along on her tummy like a soldier! Its strange because shes not scared of cars and dosnt mind when they drive past her. Thats all I can think of right now but I will probably add more later. Does your baby do any funny things? |
as long as its only your sock poppy picks up to give ur mom:lol tears:lol tears:lol tears |
1. Whenever I let Louis outside to go potty he starts jumping up and down by the door. He jumps almost all the way to the doorknob. 2. Every time we come home he is looking out the window waiting for us. Then he runs and grabs a toy from his toy basket to greet us with a toy 3. He sneezes every morning when he wake up. 4. He loves to nibble on people. 5. He LOVES to go bye bye in the car, but he cries for about the first 20 mins. of the trip. 6. He grabs a mouthful of dog food and runs into the family room to eat it. He will not eat at his bowl. This should be a fun thread to read! I am sure I will have more to add later.:) |
When ever I leave the house, Pixie goes to my bed and drags my pajama's down the ramp into the hall and lays on them until I return home. If Roxie is laying on my bed and I sneeze, she flies off the bed and runs to the open crate in my bedroom. |
I love Poppy's army crawl past cars, Louis crying the first 20 min of a car ride, and Pixie's pajama comforter in the hall. Too funny! Max likes to play kissy face with my father. When dad comes in the house, Max stands on his hind legs and expects lots of kisses from his grandpa. If dad sits on the couch, Max climbs up on his chest and kisses and kisses. Max also swoons for my brother. When Max wants a treat, he trots around like a Clydesdale horse with his Kong and then throws it at my feet and sits. After every meal, or every moment of excitement (like the doorbell ringing), Max grabs his Ty Beanie Baby dachshund and takes it for a walk around the house. When he is finished, he puts his little friend to bed in his tent or on the couch. Teddy is a spinner. If I ask him if he wants a bone or to go for a walk, he spins to say yes and to show his excitement. He is also an expert at the "double take" look. :) |

Teddy is EXTREMELY social. When I take him out for a walk, he will randomly stop and lie down on his stomach. When I look back, there is usually a person walking a few feet behind him where he takes this time to lie and wait for the stranger to get closer to him. When the stranger is withing reaching distance, he springs up and blocks the stranger's path and sits in front of them so that they pet him! LOL. |
1 Attachment(s) The one thing I love is the Rosie shuffle! Every time she goes potty, she does the Rosie shuffle. I guess she has to cover it all up with grass. Lol. I tried to get a picture of it. When she wants me to hold her she will get on her back two paws and push on my leg. If that don't work she then whines. Of course, I have to pick her up. She too loves socks. It doesn't matter who's they are, they are play toys to her. When I call her, she will jump up in my husband's lap and kiss his face all over. Then she comes to me. But my favorite is that she sleeps right in the middle of us. If he gets too close she will growl at him. I love it!!! I told him I trained her well! Attachment 336866 |
When the door bell rings, Brandi (my guard dog...all 4lbs of her) will bark her little butt off but she won't run to the door unless I am going to the door. The whole time she is barking, she is standing behind me. |
Everytime I get home from anywhere, or just walk back inside from going to my laundry room, Rizzo has to run around the couch 3 times before he can properly greet me. He will also steal any sock he can get his little teeth on, he is really good at finding all of my missing socks...unfortunately he hides them in his stash until he's ready to play with them again. Speaking of stashes, I found his, it was under my TV stand...I didn't even know he could still get under there, but after witnessing him squeeze his little behind under there I went investigating and found my $400 glasses! I thought I had lost them forever, apparently he decided they were needed further investigation. Unfortunatly, there is a chip in the glass and I'll have to replace them, but the frames are in fact intact :) My little yorkie thief, he does enjoy stealing, and he gives a proud little sitting dance when I find it. Like he shakes his little body as though he's proud that he found such an awesome treasure and he wants me to return it to him. lol. |
Pixie - 1. She jumps up and down at your legs when your eating breakfast. Hoping to get something. 2. When you said to her need to go potty she runs to the door and jumps up and down until you put the leach on to take her out. 3. She whines when she wants you to take her out if your not paying attention to her or it also can mean she wants you throw something. 4. She nows when I'm suppose to be home from work. She is at the back door with her ball waiting for you to throw it. 5. Ever two hours she comes to let you know you need to get away from the computer and play with me. 6. When leaving to go away in the car and if you ask her if she wants to go she goes nuts until you take her along. 7. When the door bells ring she'll bark and bark until you see who is there. |
sorry, this is a little gross Teddy and Daisy get a treat when they go out and do their first morning poopie. So they have a scheme going now where one goes to their 'spot' and does the poopie while the other stands guard watching near the deck. As soon as the first one poopies they run like crazy into the house for the treat. Two minutes later the second one whines to go out and do poopie. The 'other' one waits by the deck and they run like crazy to the door once again. Yes, they know they have outsmarted us. They do this every morning. They have also learned to go out and get into the position to 'fake' a poopie. We have to actually see something drop to get a treat. Sometimes we go out to check the ground. They are little stinkers. We crack up when they do this because they have figured out how to trick us. |
1. as Soon as your butt hits a chair, couch, the bed, etc. Remy is whining and clawing at the material to get up. If I sit in the recliner he will go around to all of the sides looking at me till I pick him up. 2. He ankle bites his big brother(schnauzer) Winston will have a toy and Remy will run up behind him and grab him on the ankles. A few times Winston has drug him around like that :D. 3. He loves women to hold him( like my mom, grandma, mother in law) but he doesn't really like a man to pick him up. He won't even beg my hubby to pick him up, he is a true momma's boy! 4. After he wakes up, he loves to stretch. And he loves when I help him stretch by holding his paws out he will make the weirdest sound. Then he has to come give me kisses after he stretches :). 5. Winston(schnauzer) is my sock thief, Remy doesn't like socks. But Winston hides them under the bed and behind the couch! :) |
This is a great thread. Our pups do such cute things. Sammy like to take socks out of the laundry and will chew on them if I don't get them in time. He likes to runs laps around the living room. My favorite- Whenever I'm at the stove or the sink, Sammy stands next to me with his front paws on the top of my feet. I just love feeling his little paws on me! |

I had to think about this one for a minute cause Tuck is always doing funny stuff cause is he just crazy but I was trying to remember if he does anything repative. 1. When we go outside and there is fresh snow he loves to just stop dead in his tracks and plops his face in the snow as if he was tracking something, then he lifts his face up and all you can see is his beady little black eyes and nose. :) He looks like Santa pup..hehe 2. He loves to be blowed dried even when he isnt wet, as soon as he hears the blow dryer he comes a running and will jump on your legs untill you at least blast him once with it, oddly enough it always has to be in his face. 3. when he sleeps he must be laying with his head on something, pile of pillows, blankets, clothes, etc. 4. As soon as I get up, so does he.. doesnt matter if I just go to the bathroom he is always right there. 5. when petted he nibbles on you, his legs or he licks your hand. 6. he wont eat his food with out his "sister lexee" eating hers first and not before he circles his plate about 3 times. 7. He barks at people when they are leaving the house, not when they come in..(someone please expain this one to me..lol) yeah.. hes a wierd dog..but I love him..:) |

Oh and another thing. Does anyone else have a potty watcher? Both Poppy and her sister Jess love to watch people on the toilet.... if me or any of my family go to the bathroom they will cry and scratch at the door to be let in, then just sit there staring at you... weirdos. :D |
1) I cannot put on shoes to leave the house without Yogi trying to scratch them off my feet. He knows if momma puts on shoes she's leaving the house. 2) Try burying his "Loofur" aka his "anky" under the comforter and both Yorkies go into rat-huntin mode, and try to "dig" it out...it's hysterical to watch. 3) Yogi is the Poochie-bell ringer....a string of bells that he rings when he wants to go outside, Buttons & Mercedes (his dachshund sister) know this gets them a trip outside, so if pawing at me doesn't work, they paw at him till he goes to the door. When he hears me get up to come, he gets really excited, and barks victoriously, which in turn makes Button's upset with him, so she bite/tackles him the second they are out the door. She hates when he gets noisy. 4) I must have invisible hurdles around the perimeter of my yard, as Yogi must do his perimeter run everytime he gets let out (after he recovers from the tackle Buttons just gave him). He runs...jumps & glides like there are hurdles there, barking happily at the world to announce he is out, but the jump glide thing looks like he is jumping hurdles all the way around the yard. 5) I cannot sleep in warmer weather with my feet under the blankets...so now that I am actually cold, if I have my feet under the blankets, he will dig or mouth the blanket & pull it till my feet are uncovered. Then he runs up & gives me kisses like he fixed everything for me. Now I usually wait till he settles down before I cover up. Or maybe he is just checking to make sure I don't have shoes on to leave before he settles down...I don't know for sure...lol Like I said earlier this morning, he is the smartest dog I have ever had, & both he & Buttons are the sweetest dogs ever, unless by chance you have the nerve to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night while mom is sleeping...then no matter how much they love on you during the day, you are a bad person that needs barked at."Oh...mom is up now (thanks to the barking), it's okay...you can pee!" |

When I fill Thor's food bowl, I have him Sit and Stay. He sticks his nose out as far as he possibly can to smell what his dinner will be. I can just see him thinking, "let it be steak... let it be steak... let it be -" :D |
If I am sitting anywhere in the living room and I don't pay attention to Bogus, he will be laying on the couch and jump, like we do sometimes as we are falling asleep, and he will do it over and over until I say something to him, and then he rolls over on his back, the funniest thing! Yogi and Suki, don't really have any funny quirks like this:) |
OMG!!! I LOVE this thread!!!! Everyone has such adorable little stinks!!:D My Daizy used to sit on the floor in front of me whining when she wanted a treat or needed to go out.....but if that didn't get my attention she resorted to jumping up on the sofa and putting her two front paws on my chest and WHINING louder......if I look at her to ask her what she wants....she looks away...as soon as I turn my heard and look away... she looks back at me and whines AGAIN!! a little demanding! (We can do this for awhile..LOL) She taught that annoying little habit to her little sister Tulip..but Tulip goes a step further by 'pawing' my face until she gets what she wants!! And now my new adoptee Honey is ALREADY joined in on the obnoxious behavior!! Only been here a couple weeks and she knows the ropes!! Honey also nose butts my husbands leg whenever she wants on the sofa! Only him..not me...it's so funny! |

LOL I laughed at all of them and nodded my head to most of them!!! Gracie LOVES SOCKS!!! well really ANYTHING that she can get her teeth on... whenever we are home or at my brothers house and the door bell rings she will look for something to put in her mouth and take to the door with her!!! and of course bark like crazy and look at me like shes saying "mommy someones at the door go get it I wanna see!!!" lol and turns in circles as shes barking one time the only thing that she could find was a dirty diaper!!! lmao sicko!!! she FREAKS out whenever someone comes to visit!!! she goes CRAZY wanting to jump on them and give them kisses!!! another thing that she does that makes me laugh is whenever I tell her "Gracie do you wanna go... " she tilts her head as to say "YES MOM!!! I WANNA GO!!!" and then if we dont leave right away she whines until we go!!! lol and she LOVES her grandpa!!! (my FIL) ANY TIME we go over there she has to go and find him and attacks him with kisses!!! he loves her too!!! :) |
OMG...All of these are so cute...its as if we are all talking about the same furbaby. My Gizmo is also a sock lover and a spinner, he likes to make mad dashes around the house, and seperating dirty laundry is one of his favorite times. Silly willy likes to roll around in them on the floor. At poop time it is hilarious to watch, he does this thing where he pins around three times and proceeds to duck walk as he poops, and of course when done he has to turn around and take a sniff. Then there is what hubby and I like to call the ''madd scientist'' thing he does, where we hide the toy inside the pillow case and he starts to so this front paw scratching real fast on the pillow case, its funny to watch because he has his head down concentrating and as he scratches his hair falls forward covering his face and he looks like he is going mad. Next I am seated in my reclyner, with my elbows resting on the top of my knees, he will jump ion the chair with meclimb up my back, and litterally stand on my back and shouylders trying to take my hair bonnet off, once he gets it off he jumps over my head and takes off running...it is soooo funny. I got a million stories like most of you, but I shall save some for later....lol Ok....lets hear the next one please...lol!!!!:lol tears:eyetearss:sidesplt: |
My Yorkie Heidi's hang up is every night as soon as we go to bed she'll come up & pester me until I say, "Where's your bone?" She'll get the ? look on her face and take off down her bed stairs. A few minutes later up she'll come with a bone or toy I have to hold while she'll chew on it a couple of minutes then she'll happily stretch out & go to sleep. She'll also spin one time for yes she wants something and out of control multiple spins for I want it so bad I can't stand it. An annoying habit is every time I sit down to eat, even snack or whatever, she thinks I need to accompany her to her potty pad, which 99.9% of the time she didn't need to go she just wanted my attention. She does so many little funny things. Keeps me laughing. The other day she saw me get the fish food out - by the time I got to the aquarium she was sitting on the arm of the loveseat next to it so she could watch me feed the fish. I thought that was just pretty smart! |
