I agree with ladys mom and wonder why they didn't put your girl on IV fluids to flush her system and help weaken the effects of the toxin ??? I'm so sorry you and your girl are going through this and I hope she pulls through with no ill effects.. you are both in my thoughts. Please keep us updated on how she is doing. (((( Hugs to you both )))) |

If she's not moving, turning her frequently can help to prevent fluid retention in the lungs. Good to hear that she's drinking for you. If she were to become dehydrated, fluid replacement can be done either by sub'q or by enema. Prayers for a complete recovery for your little one. |
Just seeing this now. Hoping that Tink is doing better. |

praying that little tink is doing better, and is on her way to a full recovery xo |
TINK IS UP BY HERSELF!!! still not out of the woods, but, she seems to be better today. She ate and drank very good today. I am giving her pedialyte as well. Please keep the prayers coming I am positive that this is what is helping her be strong. She is not as wobbly today. She still seems to not see well. But, I am praying that she will make a full recovery. As for why they didn't put her on IV fluids...I asked that and was told that if she was drinking and eating she would be more comfortable at home than in the strange vets office????? I don't understand why they didn't give her some fluids or SOMETHING... I am so upset with the whole vet "system" right now I could scream...I felt like they just wanted to brush me off. Tink is advanced in age and I wondered as did my dh if that had/has a factor in their treating us the way they did???? It is not right whatever the reason. She is our girl. Now... I have a friend that took her male yorkie Friday to the same 1 vet that we have in this little town....guess what he did to her Peanut? Yep, gave him too much Ivermectrin based wormer... She is now going thru the same thing. I am really ready to give this vet a piece of my mind...AGAIN. Ijust found out about him today. I know how Payton (my friend) feels and what she is going thru. This is horrible, can't the vet be held responsible for this mess???? I am sorry that it took so long to update today. Everytine that I would try to get online, my computer would not "act" right. And when Tink stood up today, I wanted to shout so loud that you all could hear me. Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart...Rhonda you are GREAT. Don't know what I would have done with out you the other night. Sorry so long. I just love you guys, you have all been so wonderful!!! I am so thankful that I have this site to come to!!! |
Just got home tonite & checking for any updates. Thoughts of her all day. Hope she is a little better today! |
It sounds as though Tink is a little fighter. Glad that she seems to be on the right track. Will certainly keep sending the good thoughts and prayers. Go Tink! As for the vet, I would seriously consider finding another vet anywhere I could. I know you said that you are in a small town but if this were my only choice...The choice would be made for me. |

Oh, the choice has been made...I am looking for a new one now. I may have to drive an hour, but, it is worth it so very much so. My little girl is fighting and if he had done his job correctly we would NOT have to be going thru this... This is just the way I feel. I appreciate all the prayers thank you all again SO very much. |
Happy to hear she is starting to do better! Glad you are searching for a new vet. What a mess that place seems to be. |
The vet here is a cow vet mainly. You bring in a daintly little yorkie and I guess it blew his mind. CRAZY!!! I am so upset with all of this. I just can't believe that this has happened and all that she has been thru and then he offers no help. She is in my lap now and seems to be all right at this moment. Not jerking so badly. I think it has affected her eyesight tho. :( |
I am glad Tink is doing better, but I am still in awe about your friends baby going through the same thing a few days later. Did the vet "forget" what happened to Tink? Or does he really care? Good for you finding another one. He should probably stay with the cows, horses, etc... and leave all else alone. I feel sorry for the one who brings him a parakeet!! |
Glad to hear Tink is doing better. I can't believe that vet did the same thing to another dog. I hope your friends dog is doing to be ok and you both really need to find a new vet. |

He feels he did nothing wrong..HELLLLOOOO!!! I don't think he has a heart. Just in it for the money. I will NEVER take anything to him again. It was just a simple check up, worming, make sure she is o.k.....blah, blah, blah, what was supposed to be a simple look over visit, went crazily wrong and then he does poor little peanut the same way. I am amazed that this has happened to my little Tink, but, another one too. I pity that parakeet!!! |
