| Biting! I need some help... Buster is a biter and I don't know how to get him to stop! We've been telling him no but he just keeps biting. Is there a special way to train your puppy no to bite?? I know he is teething and what not but its getting a bit out of control... he gets carried away while playing and has drawn blood on mine and my boyfriends hands! I just dont know what to do about it... any suggestions??

| Those little puppy teeth hurt. What I did when Chachi would want to bite on me is tell him no bite then put a toy in his mouth that he could chew. Another thing you can do when he does it is ignore him and dont give him any attention so he sees when he does bite he doesnt get any attention. It is frustrating when your going through it but they do outgrow it

| What chachi said is exactly right. When my Reesie (13 weeks old) gets all crazy biting, I make sure to put a toy in his mouth instead of my hand. Make sure you yell out in a high pitch OUCH when your pup bites you, that's what his littermates would do and he knows that means hurt. Yesterday, I was playing tug-o-war with Reesie and then went to cuddle him and he bit my nose HARD!! No blood, but some redness and it HURT!!! I immediately yelled out OUCH, ignored him, and gave him the toy to bite on!! BE CAREFUL! Viv

| Thank you! It's good to know that they out grow it! We do tell him no bite... but as we are telling him "No Bite!" he bites us... Maybe I will try and ignore him when he bites... Thanks for the advice!

| Zach finally outgrew biting humans at 10 months old but he still bites his brother and sisters. Olver is just 10 weeks old and has gotten mostly all his baby teeth. He's still biting but we keep telling him NO BITE!!!!!and yell ouch and he stops. Hopefully he'll outgrow it like Zach did. |

YT Addict | When Gizmo use to bite me I would yell ouch really loud and then turn my back to him in defiance and ignore him, he so did not like that, he knows when I am upset with him because I ignore him which of course does not last long because he will jump in my lap and dive in my chest while I am in the reclyner and start giving me kisses, who can stay mad at him when he is giving kisses....lol....but he now knows that to bite makes mom un-happy.

| If he's biting too hard during play you should "YELP" loud in a high pitch, like another puppy or his mother would do if he bit them. I did that when my two were little and they would get me too hard. They would quickly stop and look at me...then lick my hand as if saying sorry They also were gentler the next time...now they don't even bite... I think they do with each other though because every so often I'll hear a yelp come from one of them. You could try that....... It worked for me.
