The border collie and the new puppy get along fine. Buddy my three year old just doesn't seem to like the new puppy. we have tried giving all of out extra attention to buddy and he seems to be okay with the new puppy until he comes near me or starts to climb on him. Does anyone have any advice for me????

| It will take some time for them to get used to each other. When I brought Dexter home, Ellie was not too happy with me as she had always been the center of attention. It took 3 weeks for her to come around. Be very patient. Show him lots of attention and give him special time with you. He will come around but time is the answer on this one IMO. Congrats on the new puppy.

| We have 5 dogs and there is alot of jealousy in our home. When one comes to us they all come and want to be cuddled. If my friend and I are holding one of the dogs and another one comes over there is growling and barking. I think dogs are just like kids they all fight for attention and even though you think you are treating them equally they have a different idea. I think given time things will work themselves out. It just takes patience and understanding and alot of love. |
