WOW !!! you are amazing to realize how important that was to all involved, & to put yourself @ risk to do something for someone else. Bless you!! Not surprised by the outcome, & also believe they left this earth for a better place together. Thank you for what you did, & for sharing your story with all of us, you were their angel & i'm sure your act of kindness will never be forgotten.

Thanks for sharing. It brought back memories. My MIL passed away the end of October from cancer. She came down from Chicago so I could take care of her. After a short time here, she fell in love with my little girls. She even told me to leave her dog alone. After she passed, I really thought about joining a group and having Ally go to the hospitals/nursing homes. After looking into it, it would have been to stressful for her. Now, my nephew was just diagnosed with A.L.L. (leukemia) and will probably go to MD Anderson. Not sure which facility though, but the cancer is working very fast. This is so sad...yes, there should be a warning on the title!

This story brought tears to my eyes, what a beautiful story. A Animals love is so powerful. Not to hijack your thread but when my daughter Hannah , was very sick(she has stage 4 wilms tumor ) we spent months in the hospital( 5 months straight one time) she would wait for Saturdays afternoons , some Saturdays she would be so sick she couldn't get out of bed but the excitement in her eyes was breathless, why because that was the day Cody the therapy dog would come for a visit , he was a beautiful airdale terrier , somedays Hannah would just lay there but when cody walked in the room the smiles and her soft sweet voice saying Cody come , would move us to tears. Cody's handler would allow him to get up on the bed with her for a snuggle , and for a few precious moments all seemed right in her world. What an amazing thing you did /do for this patients.

Oh My God! I'm sitting here hysterical. That is the best story I have ever read in a very long time. When I was in the hospital last year after breaking my hip my friend smuggled my little shorkie Zoe in to see me. I was so depressed while I was there but that made my day so I can relate to this. There is nothing like a dog to brighten up a patient in a hospital every hospital should do this it would make for many happy patients.
