to this day the same nephew STILL is very rough with dogs. They have a tiny puppy , and recently I saw him pick the pup up by the scruff of his neck and toss him onto the couch. It made me gasp. This time my brother was more firm . my nephew is 14. Old enough to know better.
I do not let him come over to my place anymore. I think the kid has some type of mental problem.
When it is your home, and visitors are over, they need to abide by your rules. That girl , would of been asked to leave she ever pushed down one of my dogs.

sounds like my 15 year old niece. Only I didn't give her a chance after she mistreated my fur-kids in front of me. I can't stand the little daemon even if she's only 15. I wasn't such a sick, envious little person at her age, so I won't accept that as an excuse .
I noticed it was jealousy toward my little angels, because, yes, I spoil them. I had to explain it to my brother and his family (including the teenage deamon) that they were sleeping in my fur-children's bedrooms (they each have their own), sitting on their couch and staying in their house. I would be greatful, I said, if I were you .

It's nice to read people have had similar experiences and I don't think I would have minded so much to get Silver off of her if she wouldn't have been so hateful about it. I honestly didn't care if it bothered her or not because as stated before her and I have no sort of relationship. Just I'll be sure next time to tell her she can leave because all she wanted was to use someone anyways.

oh come on! I didn't say Hurt her dog!! I said KINDLY PUSH her dog away!! Sometimes people just don't understand ...until they SEE for themselves!!

It doesn't sound like your cousin hurt your baby either..but the SIMPLE act of pushing her away...and saying "go way" obviously hurt your feelings as it would ANY OF US...and its a good bet she wouldn't

I'm going thur that now , my daughter invited herself w my grandkids to stay a whole month with us in Florida, she lives in Ny . Her husband travel for work, so she and the 2 yr old and the 6 months old are with me.
Well I do have my furbabies 3 year old and 4. Well she isn't happy about my babies and my grandson love to pick on them, So I let her know fr day one , this is my house my furbabies house, My grandson gets time out all day fr me, and she is not happy , well too bad !!! I'm not going to let my 2 1/2 yr old grandson pick on them and do nothing.
She knew they live here , so too bad, So happy the 29th is this week and I can have peace in my house again.
I will miss them and I love them , but this is why I visit them w/out my furbabies.

I know, you didn't mean for her to hurt the cousin's dog (I even thought you wanted to make a little joke to make the YT member feel a bit better, but what if she's so angry that she does take your advise?) and maybe the little fur-baby didn't get hurt physically by the cousin, but dogs have feelings too. I know because I can see it in their eyes ...it doesn't matter what size they are or how tough they look. "Eyes are the windows to the soul."

I still say, go directly to the offender and look at her dog as a separate being, not an extension of that mean person. The cousin's poor dog maybe getting bad treatment from the cousin as well. From how the YT member decribed her cousin, I gather that the cousin is all around rotten human being and her dog is just an innocent bystander who never had a choice on who to live with

Yeah, some people are like that and we can't change them, might as well move on to better things, more worth our time and attention
