| What type of coat will my baby have I posted before about Lexie not having much hair on her as other yorkie pups i've seen , especially on her head and legs but now that she's a bit older i'm wondering how much of her coat texture is still "puppy hair" or if this will be her natural coat type(she's almost 4 months). The hair on her legs is still very thin and the hair on her chest is pretty wiry compared to the rest of her. The hair on her head is very silky and straight but the hair on her body is cottony, does this mean she'll be a cotton coat or will the texture thin out and become silky? and to add my confusion her eye shine is green. Here are some recent pics of my Lexie |

| I don't know what kind of coat, but my little Gracie has very thin hair too. She is 6 1/2 months old. Her brothers have thin hair, but one. One out of 5 puppies have thick fur.

| It looks to me like she could be a redleg Yorkie. See if this looks / seems familiar: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...r-wearing.html

| Thin hair as a pup usually means they will have a nice silk coat as an adult. It's a good thing!

| I agree. It's easy to care for. Gracie's hair doesn't get as tangled as the other yorkies I have.

| Interesting I didn't know there was more than 1 type of silk. If anyone has a yorkie with a long hard silk coat I'd love to see Last edited by candigirl; 01-26-2011 at 07:30 AM. |
