| New to Yorkie Talk Hi, We lost our Missy on Thanksgiving day. She was 10. She had a heart valve fail. We recently adopted two female yorkies. Maggie Mae and Tinker Bell. They are three days apart. Their personalities are as different as day and night. They have started eating their poop. What can I do to stop this? Michele |

| I am so sorry that you lost your Missy. That's a tough one to go through. Most of us have traveled that road. Next, I'd like to welcome you to YorkieTalk. I live just down the road from you to the southeast about an hour's drive. Been through the 'poop eating' faze. My one ate her poo for years until we found out that she has a pancreatic disease called EPI. She requires an enzyme to digest her food. Now she doesn't eat her poo unless her enzymes are off. My Pommie ate Cocoa's poo during the time right before Cocoa was diagnosed because the food was going straight through her. One of the vet's at K-State said that there is a suspicion that when poo is being eaten it may mean that the food is not being digested but not to the extent that Cocoa was experiencing. There are products out there that claim to stop poo eating, but I think that the general consensus is that they are not very effective. Pineapple fruit/juice has been known to work. Worth a try. Good luck. ~Joanne~

| Welcome to YT. It's on a sad note, but we are all here to help in anyway we can, and to express our sympathy over your loss. Some of us have gone through this before, so we know your pain. As for the poop eating problem, there are items on the market to give them that changes the smell of the poop so it's not so pleasant to them, and most times feeding a little pineapple every day works the same way. Just keep it up for a few months to break the habit. Natural Stop Eating Poop Products at Only Natural Pet Store

| Hi and welcome to YT! so sorry for the loss of your Missy! But sooo happy you got two sweet little girls, we love pictures here . They gave you wonderful advice above on the poo eating. My little one did but after about two weeks of feeding pineapple he stopped! He likes pineapple as a treat now
