Maybe you will find the owner today good luck finding them |
I just wanted to mention that this poor little pup may have not been lost from her family but stolen. Sometimes people think that Yorkie puppies are very expensive and I've heard of people picking one up and taking it out of people's yards (even from behind locked gates). She may have been dumped in your town when they got scared of being caught with a stolen puppy or whoever they took her for told them they didn't want the puppy. She may even have been taken from several towns away and that's why you didn't see any missing signs. Bless you and your brother for looking out for this little girl. I'm sure you have made her feel safe and secure. Hopefully you can get her back with her owners, I'm sure they will be thrilled. Good luck and please keep us updated. Teresa |
Maybe it was a Christmas present that has lost its appeal already,I don't know hopefully you will see or hear something about it soon |
You sound like a very kind, caring, loving person that has made one puppy very lucky that she found her way to you...I think your son is very lucky also to have you for his mom. Our children learn from us and our actions and I am sure he will grow up to be a very good young man without the issues alot of our young children have today...not knowing right from wrong...we knew an 8 yr old that found a Golden Retriever and he had been praying to God for a dog, got off the bus and there he was...looking bad they took him to the vet and not knowing his history, got his shots groomed him etc. His mom and dad made him post sign put ads in the local papers, radio etc..After 4mths. they got a call from the dogs owners...they were 50 miles from them. When they went to get the dog, the little boy came out with his piggy bank and wanted to buy the dog..The people left with the piggy bank, but passed Dad a $100 bill to help with the cost of caring for the dog for the 4mths...I know this is a true story because they phoned us to see if there was a chance we would be breeding the pups mom and Dad again so they could get them another puppy from us....They paid $600 for the puppy when they got him but said the little boy just loved him so much, and it had been 4mths of them being together, they did not have the heart to seperate them...I hope your story turns out to be something your family will remember. Keep us posted on her and how she is doing.....and you and your son...I love these threads... shows there are some really awesome people in the world today... |
Thank you for doing the right thing and taking care of this baby! As suggested, check out your local animal shelter or vet's office to see if they have a scanner. She may have a microchip with info that will lead you to the owner. |

I so wish, someone as kind as you, has found my friend, Sandra's little Maltese, Rikki, and that she will be returned. I am so very sorry that your niece lost her pup recently. I understand that pain. My darling Sydney, who will be 15 in April, is in chronic renal failure. It is killing my DH & I, day-by-day, knowing that we are going to lose her. Hugs, Sheila |
Good Luck!!!! Good Luck in finding it's owner, Do the best u can. I'm sure someone. somewhere is crying for their furbaby. Thanks u for taking care of her. In a small town like someone here said word of mouth will work. She might not have a micochip, something people wait until the puppy is older. God Bless and praying you find the owner soon. Do u have a rest stop near u, like when people travel thur a town and stop to rest ? Maybe u sure see and post something there. I know when I travel back to IL , I stop every few hours , and walk my furbabies and it's easy for one to jump out of the car and just ran . bark@ulater!!!! manina, miley:aimeeyorkmax:aimeeyork |
awwww. She only a baby. I hope you find her owners soon. |
any luck finding the owners???? How is the baby??? How are you? |
It has been a few days without an update. There is no word on the owners, ads were placed , and notices were made , placed around our tiny town. Still nothing. I have her, and she is doing better each and every day. This little one has a stalky build, tail docked . SHe started to get a little dominate towards Suzi and Miely. When the other two came up for attention . I never seen such a young pup growl and snap at adult dogs . Suzi would run away , and so did Miely. I noticed that the puppy only acts this way if I am holding her or on the couch with her. She is eating so much better too. Her favorite is anything with chicken. I don't have to hand feed her anymore. I am taking the food changes slowly. Last night I had a scare though. The puppy started to pant , No idea as to why... i put her down off the couch and she peed twice, then jumped back up on the couch, still acting uncomfortable . I believe she had a stomach ache or something.... Sure enough I found poop right next to a puppy pad. She may have ate too much too close to bedtime. She has not behaved like that since. My other 2 dogs really do not know what to make of her . She is so young and growls whenever they come close to me. We call her Emma, or Emmie. Other then that she is a mellow little pup. Suzi my other yorkie is hyperactive, and Miely the Shih tzu is mellow. I do not know her age , but guessing she is around 5 months. If my son and I leave, and come back Emmie is very happy and excited just like the others. Some of you may wonder what I am going to do. In case I do end up keeping her, I have already had a DR> write a prescription on keeping her as a service dog. I typically stay home all the time . My brother has told me that he has seen many Yorkie's around our town. He gets out more. I am inclined to believe that someone might be breeding yorkie's somewhere in our Rual town. If that were the case , then I do not know why or how she got out. Or she was left to her own accord. She certainly would not have lasted outside in the cold, foggy days. |
Heaven forbid, but if my Dinky ever gets lost, I hope someone like you finds him. You are being so kind to that little girl and so resonsible trying to find her family. |
That very moment was a good time to find the owners. They were the ones running up and down the streets going nutz. |
Did you have this puppy checked for a microchip? I saw that it was suggested but didn't see where you posted you had her scanned. If this girl has not been through service dog certification how did you get a doctor to get you a prescription for her:confused: You might want to try Facebook...I know of dogs that have been reunited with their owners from posting on a lost/found dog page there. Good luck in finding her owners. If they are like any of us, I'm sure they are devastated. |

agreed totally! How can you say...this would never happen to me. I hope it does not happen to you...i would try to do everthing in my power to not let it happen to me, but it does happen...we went to an auction had axel in a bag that zipped, he wriggled his little nose and unzipped the bag under our seat. He didn't get far i caught him out of the corner of my eye! So don't say never. And when i read your post it was my feeling that you didn't not have any intentions of finding these owners and i sure hope i'm wrong. I did loose a dog once and put up signs and the wife of the guys wanted to keep my boston terrior and he did the right thing...i sure hope you did the right thing. |
Yes, make sure you post signs & all of that because you dont want to be taking someones baby without trying to bring them back together, becuase you wouldnt want that to happen with one of your babies. Good Luck. |

I'm sure you would want your dog returned to you if the situation were reversed. Keep the mindset that this girl is temporary in your home because she belongs to someone else. |

It scared my friend, so badly, that she could have lost this little one, that her already high blood pressure, rose even higher. She, also lived in a rural area. She chose it so that her dogs, barking, would not bother her neighbors. Do, please don't give up, searching for her owners. Somewhere in your tiny town, someone is heartsick. |

Is there someone in that area that can post lost posters? Does this post violate rules? |
Over a week ago, I contacted(via email) the Avenal Chimes newspaper and asked if there was anybody trying to post or has posted a classified for a lost yorkie. They never responded to me. For some reason I cannot get this puppy out of my head. |

"I'm not sure what can be done if they know of someone looking for a puppy since she is now gone" If someone has reported a lost yorkie around the time they found her I wonder if Admin. would provide a phone number to get in contact with her. If they have one. Just a thought. |
Question: Why does someone get "banned"? |

I keep checking, hoping she found the puppy's owners, but I think it sounded like she was planning on keeping her. |

I suspect it is what has happened to my friend's Maltese, that was lost in MI. I could never keep somone else's puppy. :( If a person truly cared about the puppy, they would do what is best for the puppy, and that is finding the owners. |
Please do everything possible to find the owners... I know my husband and I would be devastated if anything ever happened to our babies. We have two yorkies and they are about 5 pounds each. We NEVER let them out of our sights. Both very well trained but each of them got out of the fence once. They are so small and quick before we knew it they got out. We were right there when it happened and were able to get them right away (thank God). Even the best owners with the most well behaved dogs get out sometimes. As far as the matting fur, one of our babies never has a mat, I could go weeks without ever having to brush him. But our little girl will mat in a day. I could brush her and with in an hour she starts matting again and we have tried everything (oils, the best shampoos and conditioners) but its just her fur. So please do not assume that they are bad owners. If the baby seems well feed than thats a good sign they take care of her/him. I pray that they find her soon |
