Showering WITH your furbaby?
 
Is this strange? LOL! When I had my other Yorkie her breeder said she was so crazy about her yorkies that when they needed a bath, she would take them in the shower with her. She said it soothes them, makes bath time easier, and is a great bonding / fun time for both. For Layla's first few baths I did it in the sink, but just last week I took a shower with her. Haha, is this strange? :rolleyes: Does anyone else do this?

Yes, its true! I'm coocoo for Layla! :yay_jump: I just thought I would randomly add that. lol!

I have a few times- I don't find it to be any special bonding time or anything, lol. Just a few times when one really needed to get clean and I was in a rush I just took them in the shower real quick with me because it went faster. Mine are very well behaved at bathe time either way so I don't know if it helps to soothe but it might with a dog that is nervous of bathe time.

muah ha ha ha.... My dh will shower with the dogs. If he has to give them a bath, he prefers to do it that way. Moka loves bath time, and I never have any problems with her shaking or anything, but Mylee hates it. However, in the shower she doesn't fight it so bad, so maybe there is some truth to that calming affect because he holds her the whole time.

Nope, if I showered with Maxine, Carlo would expect the same or he would pout. Max gets washed in the Laundry room Tub, and Carlo goes to the Training facility that also does grooming.

I shower with Sugar. It keeps her warmer till she is released :D And besides....I like it too! I DO feel like she feels safer this way though, snuggled into me while all soaking wet :D

Yup, Peanut and I love to shower together!!! Its easier on my back, and its faster!

I haven't tried it. I think Lucy would be afraid of the water coming down on her. Hmm. Might have to give it a shot; she really needs cleaned up!

I was worried about this at first too but they didn't seem to be phased by it at all.

i shower with them sometimes. It's much easier on my back and saves time and water. they get wet while i'm showering and then i soap them up fast and hold them up under the water to rinse. they prefer that to the cold kitchen sink or tub and it's kinda nice having company in there :p sometimes the whole family hops in. Bentley, Sadie, mommy and daddy:embarasse and we all save time and water lol hey Save the Planet, Shower with a Buddy or three :D anyways

I have big boobies so bending to shower them has always been soooo painful. :rolleyes: The bath solution was definitely better for me cause of the back issues, too.

Not sure you can? I just make sure to dry off Layla's ears after.

OH REALLY RACHEL....WOW!!!! LOlllll!!!!!!

I would get nervous that Snick would stick his nose in the wrong place, like sniff out some mildew I may have missed (don't worry I have cleanliness OCD & don't have mold) or soap scum and try to lick it or sniff it and keep sniffing it-you know how they do that. I don't know, he hates water anyway so prob would never get in with me. Also, my shower is like my quiet little "me" time. :rolleyes:
