When we are at home, I bathe Zeke in the kitchen sink using the sprayer. When we live in the motor home in the winter, I take him in the shower with me bacause we have a pull down shower seat that I put a towel on and stand him on that. I have a hand held shower that makes it quite convenient. It only takes about 5 minutes in the shower. Once I get him bathed, I pass him out to my husband who then dries him off. |
I think Jackson would absolutely hate it. He's a water freak but not big on baths or water pouring down. Plus, he's not a cuddler or one to enjoy being up in my arms and stuff anyways. He would be miserable, LOL. He's a very good boy with his baths in the kitchen sink. |
Toby gets a shower every week. He doesn't mind it but it isn't his favorite thing to do. He is always in the bathroom with me every day when I take a shower. I agree with others, it is much easier on my back. What's really cute is after I dry him off with a towel, he stands there waiting to be put up on the toilet seat to get blow dried. He's really good in the shower. As for keeping water out of their ears, I am usually holding him to get him wet so I hold his ears down with my hand to keep as much water out of them as I can. It must work because he doesn't constantly scratch his ears or act like they hurt. I heard somewhere that you can put cotton balls in their ears but I haven't tried that. |
I don't think there is anything wrong with it. |
I have to admit I did this for Bee before, she doesnt like a bath at all. SHE HATES IT !!! so, she is better as long as she is in there with me :) so. |

Austin would definitely hate it. I could only imagine how many 3rd degree scratches I will have across my body..lol He's so aggressive..lol |
I have done this before with Couver, but because he's so good in the bath... he doesn't really need it. I don't think it's weird at all :) |

That's a little odd to me, but to each their own. Troy has gotten in the kiddie pool with kids but that's as far as it goes. I give Troy baths either in the tub or kitchen sink. I feel like I smell like "dog" right after and go take a shower myself. |

Lexi generally sits right outside the shower door, so occasionally I'll bring her in at the end of my shower when the water is cooler. I like my shower HOT! She doesn't mind it, she's pretty used to being in the shower because that is where she gets her baths too. (Removable shower head is a great thing). I've never showered with our Doberman, but my boyfriend does on occasion. Our roommates always thought we were weird for doing it. |
I don't think Teddi would like getting a bath in the sink. I always take her in the shower. We take a shower together every Saturday morning. I got one of those no slip things for the floor and she walks around and gets under the water. She loves her showers and it is so easy to wash her in there. She rinses off herself. After we are done with our shower I wrap her in a towel and put her in the bathroom sink where she lays down on the blanket and I blowdry her. |
At my old place, I showered Pancho in the tub and he HATED it! He would be holding on to my arm for dear life and cry and cry:(. I then tried going into the smaller upstairs shower with him and he was fine lol. It seems weird I guess but it's not really that bad. I recently moved and I tried showering him in the sink for the 1st time...I swear I thought he'd be jumping out but he was SO GOOD. He just stood there and let me do my thing, it was pretty nice :animal36 |
I have taken mine in the shower with me once. It was alright. They seemed to be fine with the water. It was one of our FEW cold days here in Sunny Florida ;) and I just closed the bathroom door to help keep the heat in. I sat on the "floor" and soaked them down and then lathered them up. I did pick them up and hold them to rinse them. That was easier. I do not think I would hold them while trying to get the soap all in and worked up. I would be afraid of them sqirming and falling. Did not get any scratches though. :D Will probably do it again this weekend since it has decided to be cold a little more. ;) I envy some of you who have such cute jackets for your babies and actually NEED them. I do not think I would be happy where I could get snowed in but a little snow would be nice for all my kids (skin and furry) to play in. Will just have to be happy with frost and the pictures on the TV for now. :D |
