| Just discovered toys My Tinker Belle was not very socialized when I first got her at 8 months, and didn't know how to play with toys, or for that matter, how to play at all. She is a little over a year now and just now discovering how to play. She tries so hard to play like the other dogs and it's so sweet to see her pick up her little toy and run with it along with the other dogs like she is trying to be just like them. I was so happy last night when I threw her toy for her, and guess what, she brought it back to me! And this morning I caught her throwing a piece of plastic (not sure where she got it) up in the air and then chasing after it. Such a milestone for my baby. Does anyone else have a little one/rescue that doesn't know how to play with toys yet?

| Aww- what a sweet story. What a testament to the care and love she must be getting in your home. Both of mine love toys so much and I love watching them play- I can't imagine not watching them play. I am glad your little girl is learning to play!

| I'm so happy for you both. I'm sure it does the heart good to see her play.

| My Little Rescue Willow that we adopted in November, she has no idea what a toy is. She will see me throw the toy for Lizzie and watch Lizzie bring it back. She hears the squeaker and it scares her. I did however see her sniffing at a toy when she thought I wasn't looking. So maybe there is hope for her. She just turned 6 years old.

Yorkie Yakker | Ahh, I've got one of those. We adopted 2 yr old Cairn Terrier who is now 7 and still does not play with toys. No matter how much, Rocky tries to play with him, Jack refuses. We say he's a lover not a fighter ; )

| How sweet. Sometimes it take them awhile to be completely happy and feel safe. Some just never do like playing with toys. I'm glad she isn't one of them. It's just too much fun when they do play.
