| My baby hurt my feelings Tonite I was bathing Hayley and she got very mad at me when I was tryig to wash her face. She growled and I am not sure she did nt try to bite me. I know she hates her face washed, I wash it every day and she growles and acts up. Tonite she was extremely mad with the blow drayer and washing her face. Does anyone else have this problem? She is only 12 weeks old! What if she gets so bad that I cant bath her and wash her face at all!! That really hurt my feelings I thought she loves me. After bathtime and she was all dry she wanted up in my lap to snuggle and she licked my face like her normal sweet self. How should I handle her aggression? I yelled NO! but that didnt help. I dont want to spank her so what should I do? Please Help

| I don't think she was mad at you necessarily but she is only a baby and she is learning about proper and improper behavior. It shows spunk and personality and that she has confidence in herself, youand her surroundings that she growled. It is normal. Keep doing it frequently and she will get accustomed to it. You should yell "ouch" really loud if she tries to bite you as that is not acceptable. My Baby Ava used to growl whenever I brushed her but now she is so good and actually like sto be brushed because she gets treats and "love" when it is time to bruch her. Sometimes she gets so relaxed she almost falls asleep. You are doing fine, just remember she is still very young. |

| awww she does love you! like SoCal said its not that shes mad at you, more so at the unpleasant things that come along with taking a bath. Crunchy absolutely HATES the blowdryer after bathtime!! And i wind up getting the brunt of that! He growls, he bites, he just wont cooperate whatsoever! its like hes a totally different little dog. dont take it personally. i just try and do it slowly and leave drying his face to last, also i give him treats while im doing it. believe me it helps a lot! they just have to get used to it. hope it gets easier

| bathing Wow, my yorkie is a 12 week old female too. Females are known for having attitude, Brandy growls at me #1 if she wants to get down/doesn't want to be held anymore #2 If I'm holding her and touch another dog. I think alot of female yorkies do have attitude. I just try to pet her and talk to her and definately do not "rough play" with her. As for the bathing: I've heard not to do it everyday because it's bad for their skin. Take care! cher |

| What you should do is what you're doing. Keep bathing and blow drying her regularly enough that she can become used to them.

| Tinkerbell was the same way at that age, she fought me over everything, growled and even nipped me a few times over certain things. I really think it is just a puppy thing and if you teach her manners and the rules it will stop. Tinkerbell has been such an angel for months now. She never fights me over anything now and just soooo wants to please me. |

| She doesn't hate you, she loves you very much, but she is testing you. You have to show her what behaviors will and won't be tolerated. I will let logan nip and clippers and the hair dryer because I understand they are scary and he doesn't understand what they are doing to him, but he only tried to nip me once in anger/fear (playtime is okay) and I just put my thumb in his month and took a hold of his bottom jaw gently and made him look me in the eye and said "you don't bite me ever" and we've had no problems since. She's bluffing you and trying to be the boss and you have to show her who's in charge. Be strong she doesn't hate you not even close.

| Abbie, doesn't growl at me for washing her never has really. She does snap at the blow dryer -playing with it though. So I don't know. Maybe she didn't mean it the way you took it. Maybe she was trying to tell you she didn't want her faced washed just like little kids do, ya know?
