| ![]() Looking for anyone with experience working with underdeveloped Yorkies. This is not an injury but birth defect. Our puppy's xray shows underdeveloped knees. The vet says she has the "soft" spot too. (Another late develpoment.) She is 6 wks old and has no diet issues. She can cruise around on her knees but I am concerned she may cause damage. He says it might develop in time. This is not swimmer's feet though perhaps she could cause some of the abdominal concern associated with that. Early on she slept on her back. She now sleeps on her side. She has tried to use her feet properly recently and she can sit on her rear tucking her feet into place under her. (Both give me hope.) I am thinking of trying to create my own boggle with bias tape to secure her feet more properly in place as well as protect her knees since she crawls on them. It is my understanding that this may keep her lifted to protect abdomen flattening also. I've already called too numerous to mention vets in this area and seen one for xrays. We did neuter dad even though this is not necessarily hereditary. So any Constructive, experienced advice would be appreciated. |

| ![]() I don't have any knowledge to help you with but I too wanted to pass along good wishes and add her to my prayer list. I hope you have a good orthopedic specialist. I think these days vets are like docs -- you have to see a specialist to get the most up-to-date, state-of-the--art care. Medicine has made so many advancements, hard for any one doc to stay on top of all areas. So, specialists really have a place. Sounds like this little gal needs one for sure. Between the specialist and your love -- she should have a better chance at developing as she should. ![]()

| ![]() I am so sorry your little puppy is having such difficulties. FIDebra's suggestion of getting her to an orthopedic specialist is a very good one. She is lucky to have you. Sending a prayer for her recovery ![]()

| ![]() After numerous phone calls, searching web and vet visit it is my understanding that she is too small and young for invasive action. She is only 11 oz at 6 wks certainly not a desirable size either but again eats well. We are at the point of giving her a little growth time and lots of prayer. I am praying for the best scenerio so prayers are welcome too. Thank you. |
