Speachless and can only say "OMG" I ran across this ad and have to say I am at a loss for words. Tiny doll face yorkshire terrier puppy for adoption 11 weeks | San Francisco | eBay Classifieds (Kijiji) | 8133780 I don't understand why people insist on producing such tiny delicate puppies!:thumbdown I am totally speechless ...... |
:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown omg , that is wrong :mad::mad::mad: |
Is that supposed to be a real puppy? It looks like one of those "Chinese stuffed animals" made (what are they called there's a kitch name for them) they are like saw dust filled and covered in real animal skins (hair) they're creepy...note the super deep indentation on the back of this dog in the second pic...looks like the saw dust ones after you grab it too tight...oh I hope it's not real...looks like a pug faced Yorkie and really sickly...oh how I hope it's a one of those sick animal skin covered dolls and not a real dog... http://bayarea.ebayclassifieds.com/d...ld/?ad=7804481 Almost scarier AKC registered huh? 8 weeks ready to go tout the door! |

Oh that is just so darn sad! The poor little thing doesn't look quite right. :( |
[Sarcasm] Let's hear it for people who breed off standard dogs! After all, color, face shape and size are really just preferences. Right? Standards are just set by a bunch of stodgy old busy bodies who have nothing better to do than stick their noses in to other peoples breeding practices. As for price, who cares what anyone else charges. I bet they are just jellus that they can't get that much for their dogs. [/End Sarcasm] Heavy sigh. |
I love it!! I feel like putting my head up in the air an howling like your little dogs in the picture!!!:D I think the puppy looked adorable! Who wouldn't want that little cutie pie?! As for $$ , so what!?! I paid a good price for mine also, not quite that much but probably too much but I'm not upset that I did. It said she will probably be 3-4lbs. What's so tiny about that? That is a nice size dog. Get over it everyone....there are MANY tinies out there, they are fine. You just have to have a home that is quiet and safe not with wild children and big dogs. If you want a BIG yorkie have one but don't knock all of us that like a small one!:aimeeyork:D:D |
I dont see where she mentioned partis exclusively just breeding off standard yorkies in entirely. There are alot of reasons why a yorkie could be off standard and there are many people on here that agree with her that a breeder should be breeding as close to the standard as possible |
1 Attachment(s) There's a difference between a normal yorkie that has thrown a tiny and breeding purposely for them. Did you see how brachocephalic the dog is in the second picture? It's abusive. It really is pathetic that people will continue to support greeders. |
Lol, your post made me feels better. I've got to say, at least in the time that I've been on YT, I've seen a big change in the average Yorkietalk reader. When I came here, people were bragging about how tiny their "teacups" were, and slowly but surely that attitude changed. Not saying there is anything wrong with loving a tiny, they are adorable, but seeking out breeders who breed for them is NOT good for the breed. I also want to point out that just because a dog is tiny at 11 weeks, this doesn't mean it will be tiny at 1 year, the runt of the litter often turns out to be the largest. |

LOL- my claws only come out when people support the unethical. |
Ok I looked at that picture really good, and I do believe that is a stuffed Yorkie. I am almost 99% sure it is, as I have a stuffed one that looks almost just like. Also look at that back leg. I say this person is out to scam people. So, sad. |

though no responsible breeder breeds for this trait. Many breeders prefer a general weight range of 4-7 pounds believing that size retains desired Toy qualities while maintaining optimum health. The Yorkie Standard states weight "must not exceed seven pounds" and as a prospective pet owner you should realize that even at 7 pounds, the Yorkie is still a small dog. So why would you endorse such a practice? |

Wow, this is the sort of replies we use to get when we spoke out against the intentional breeding of tinies. Just because a person urges breeders to breed to standard, and also urge buyers to support those breeders, it doesn't mean that we are jealous or petty. Some of us really love this breed, and want to ensure that there are healthy beautiful examples of the Yorkshire terrier around 100 years from now. In order to protect a breed, you have to look towards the future. |

Small Dogs-tiny dogs Sorry, didn't mean to get people riled up. I do agree that 5-7 lb is small. What can I say, I DO prefer a tiny. I know many out there do too. I have a 15 lb long hair chihuahua! Never thought he'd get that big! I love him as much as I do my girls. He, however is not as easy to take along with me as the girls are. If my little one that is 8mos old turns out 5-7 lbs that would be fine. Not likely, since she just reached 2 lbs. My other is 2.2.-5 years old. She Does have health problems, cp actually, Love her anyway. CP, being a birth injury, or injury in the womb. |
We would ask that people try to refrain from making remarks about people's spelling/grammar etcetera. Besides the fact it's some sort of a dig toward a person's intelligence, there could also be valid reasons why some people's spelling isn't always spot on (disability, English as 2nd language, etc). Nor is it expected to be perfect. Thanks all :)! |

So do not assume to use my comments in such a way please. BTW this is YT is it not? Or is this YTCA's bulletin board...it's becoming confusing with all the constant snide remarks...some of us love Yorkie's so much we love them in all natural forms-even Parti coloration. :) |

I had no idea that there were any Teacup Yorkies? What is a Teacup? I beleive their is just the standard bred Yorkie...bred to standard by those wishing to keep the Yorkie as it is. |
I just looked really quickly at the picture and then clicked the little link that said "see other posters ads". I wish it could be written off as being most likely a stuffed animal. But the looks are suspicously similiar to the poorly bred, off standard pups you see on sites like Luxpups, too.:thumbdown |
On a good day Buster is five pounds. It is a challenge to keep him safe and well. Maggie is between 6-7 pounds, it is a challenge to keep her safe! To me, they are both tiny. At my house, we have shoes bigger than both of them! I can't imagine them being any smaller. |

Sometimes breeders produce too small and too BIG! Hi all! Just adding my input to this thread... My yorkie is considered a Biewer and definitely considered "out of standard". I wanted a yorkie adult companion dog and I was 'counting' on the fact that many times breeders will produce a yorkie that is out of standard or... they retire an adult male or female that is 3 years old or older. I actually was not seeking a "Biewer" - but Tyke fit the criteria I was working with as he is an adult and very much on the 'large' side. He will be neutered next week and I am certain that he will greatly compliment my life as my sweetie companion! There are many people seeking an out of standard companion and thus there will always be yorkies that are too big. Unfortunately, it seems that the teeny tiny dogs have become way too popular and so we have the tiniest - previously unheard of - "tea cup" size dogs available now. If someone can offer a safe environment where the teeny dog can happily live - I don't see why it should concern anyone else if the dog is extremely small. Just my humble view here. Sondesara and Tyke |
Again, it's not the size of the dog that is the problem. The problem is greeders purposely breeding for them to turn a profit. |
Personally to me it looks very cute but not real. If you look at the eyes they just don't look real. Maybe I'm wrong but I agree with the others who said it's not real and someone looking to scam people. |
