Sydney the Destructor This problem started about a month ago. Syd is almost a year old...so I had hoped that we were pretty much through all of the puppy phases. But lately she has been extremely destructive toward her toys. She is given a new toy and within 2 minutes she has ripped a hole in it, pulled out stuffing, and we have taken it away from her. She has plenty of chewing toys...why is she chosing to rip apart her squeeky toys? Anybody have a similar problem or know a solution?

Sydney's Mom, I have the same problem I've found that Lexi seems to destroy her toys in order to get to the squeaker. Once I take the squeaker out, she doesn't have as much interest in the toys. Good luck!

Max and Gidget both do the same thing. I bought 2 toys and within 5 minutes they had it ripped apart and the stuffing out. I have been buying latex toys and the string pull ropes, everything else they destroy. Max is 5 and Gidget is 1 so it's not an age thing

My dogs have always done the same thing. In the past, I found this annoying and stopped buying them toys. But recently I read a comment that said well, yeah, that's the point, they tear up the toy instead of your house. They recommended buying toys cheaply at flea markets just for that purpose. Makes sense to me!

Ruby never do these kind of things when a puppy and now at 8 months she totally chewed our coffee table, shoe layses are her favorite to destroy, left me without a fan by chewing the cord off, will chew on clothes, has started to scratched doors to open them etc... I really hope this behavior ends as it is not the best. i try not to scold her because i feel sorry but some times she needs it.
