tinies The vet is a real jewel..he does not have the best interest of his client or her dog in mind. If only all the ills of breeding was cured by using a smaller male!!! KIM...let me get graffic. have you ever seen the erected penis of a 2 or 3 pound stud? They are not TINY...I am not going into the whelping part..I would not allow a tiny female to be naturally bred from the start. And by the way, I have seen some 6 and 7 pound males who would put a grown man to shame. |

I am certainly not encouraging the breeding of any yorkies period. It is not for the faint of heart. In my opinion breeding yorkies of any size is risky because of their size and the fact that they are a toy breed. There is a higher percentage of c-sections in this breed for that reason. 2.5 lbs or 6 lbs......it's a risk. A 6 lb yorkie can have a 12 lb yorkie! I give a lot of credit to the breeders who are able to do this because I could never accept that risk for one of my babies. But...if everyone were like me, there would be no more yorkie babies. :( |
Yes, a 6 lb Yorkie can produce a 12 lb baby -- that is true. But I'd rather be SAFE and take my chances by breeding a 5+ lb Yorkie then subject an EXTREMELY tiny Yorkie (anything under 5 lbs) to a pregnancy merely because "teacup" dogs are the latest craze right now and the money market for them is so hot. |
What's Next? What are these "teacup" breeders going to breed for next ... a teacup Mastiff? A teacup Rottweiler? Maybe a teacup German Shepherd is going to be the next hottest hollywood craze, who knows! |

They have toy schnauzers now...under 7 lbs. Minature pinchers, but you're right...what will they minaturize now? |
