| Poor Chachi! This same thing happened to Ezra (my neighbor shi tzu) about a month ago. The vet said it was an allergy presenting itself through the skin. She was on medicine and had a special wash for it for a few days. She had bitten and scratched at it so bad it was open too. I hope that is all it is and he will be back to normal again real soon! | Well we just got home. He said it is allergies and the spot is a hot spot. They shaved where the wound his so now he has this big hairless area. They gave him a shot prescribed an antibiotic and a spray to put on the wound. We got advantage and heartquard while we were there so $220.00 later we were out of there. Hopefully it heals quick.

| That is what I was thinking... but it sounded worse. Bailey has a spot that the vet said is allergies , he has some of the hair gone, and a scab on his tail. but he hasnt messed with it for awhile, I give him benadryl, which helps when I notice him digging at it. I hope hes better.

| Wow! I sure he gets better real fast! That was a whopping vet bill. I refused the heart guard for Snoodles, because she wouldn't get it down. I tried everything I could, and she would just spit it out. If I put it in cheese, she ate around it and out it came. Luckily we don't have Heart worm here too much. It has just showed up the last year. Are allergies on the skin common place for these Yorkies? Hopefully, not! Keep us posted on how he does! Pat |
