I feel really dumb but...

Don't feel silly! We bought Chip when he was 7 weeks old and my husband and I had been married for 3-4 months. 7 months later we adopted Smokey from a lady who is now our groomer and boarder. She will sometimes take in dogs that need a home and will adopt them out, so he's pretty much our little rescue pup. He was 6 months old, a puppy mill dog, and he was in about 4 different "homes" before he came to us between the puppy mill, pet store, the first owner's house, the groomer, then he was given to a lady that kept him for 4 days, then returned him to the groomer, who gave him to us. Anyways, about a month after we brought him home, my husband and I went on a little weekend trip for our 1st anniversary and brought both Chip and Smokey back to our groomers to be kept for the weekend and as I was leaving her shop, I couldn't quit thinking about the movie Homeward Bound when they had dropped the dogs off at the friend's farm while they were moving or whatever and how "Chance" the rescue pup kept saying "They'll lock us up and never come back!!" I was imagining Smokey being "Chance" and Chip being "Shadow" the dog that kept saying that they'd never leave for good and I was bawling. It was really pathetic. When I dropped Chip off to get groomed for the very first time, I cried like I was dropping my child off to kindergarten for the first time. When Chip was getting neutered, I called the vet's office every couple hours to check on him. When he had to be hospitalized from a severe vaccine reaction, I walked circles in PetSmart crying because I was afraid of losing him. Thankfully, since Chip and Smokey are now almost 4 and we haven't had any close calls health wise with them, I'm not so emotional as before, but we all just love our pups so much that we can't help it. If I'm this crazy with my dogs, I wonder how much of a nutcase I'm going to be with my first child!!!

Marcie's groomer only does Yorkies. I am lucky to have her. I expected Marcie to be as nervous as I was for the first visit, but she ran up to the groomer and gave her sweet kisses.

Your girl is beautiful!!! Your groomer obviously does a great job. Marcie sounds so sweet! I want Rylie to be that comfortable outside the house some day.

I don't even want to think about me with a skin kid! I'd be beyond overprotective and neurotic if my pup is any indication.

By the way, I LOVED Homeward Bound. I watched it all the time and yep I cried every single viewing.
