not a lot of puppy hair I don't know if this is the right place to post this but...here goes: Re: my pups --- both parents have the long silky hair (not cotton coats) as do their ancestors...(in case that makes a difference).Dad has really nice hair/thick and straight, Mom does have "thinner" hair strands but grows like crazy, long and straight. Two of the pups have the thick, semi wavy nice puppy coat and one of the pups has very straight, fine hair. I make jokes and say she's my chihuahua (though her hair is about 3/4" - 1" long, not to be confused with a super short chihuahua coat) What's up with that? I've never seen a picture of a Yorkie puppy like that and was wondering if that was common or a concern. I wouldn't be concerned but after looking haven't seen any puppy pics like that. they have a vet appointment Monday for shots and I'll ask them, but they know "dogs" not Yorkies per se if you know what I mean. Let me know if anyone here knows. thanks! Kendra Oh, they are 13 weeks old Last edited by kjcmsw; 12-25-2010 at 01:13 PM. Reason: omit

Never mind I found this in an old admin post: A puppy whose coat appears sparse or thin will, as an adult, have a thick, long coat of the correct fine silky, glossy texture. This coat’s growth is like a human’s hair, in that it is born with very little but by adulthood has an abundance of hair, the quantity having doubled and redoubled all during puppyhood (or childhood). Both colors will be totally clear. so I guess her hair is okay. Thanks! Kendra

Love it I love it when we can find our own answers! Of course as Yorkies go there are no rules they won't break.
