| Gorilla Glue and Marley's Story I think I've told this story before but I think it's worth repeating. Marley isn't a Yorkie. She is my stepson's lab mix pound puppy. Two years ago at Christmas Marley started occasional vomiting. She acted fine, ate fine, just seemed to have a bad tummy. It went on for a few days. After Christmas she was taken to the vet. Fortunately, we have a really good vet that had seen this before. She called and asked if Marley could have gotten into Gorilla Glue. We had been with her over the Christmas Holidays and had never heard of Gorilla Glue so we said no. We did call our son just to be sure. Amazingly he said that during finals three weeks earlier he had caught her with a chewed up container of Gorilla Glue and had taken it away from her. We called the vet back and told her this. Marley was immediately taken into surgery. As it turns out, Gorilla Glue expands when it contacts moisture. It had taken time but eventually had completely filled her stomach with a hard foam mass. She would have died soon if not for the emergency surgery. They had to cut her stomach open and scrape out this foam. They gave us a gallon ziplock back full of foam that they scraped from her stomach. She was in intensive care for a couple of days and on a strict diet for a while but today everything is fine - thanks to the quick thinking of her vet. She also told us that apparently Gorilla Glue tastes like a combination of maple syrup and peanut butter - very inticing to dogs. We will never have gorilla glue in our house again, but if you do be very careful with it. The container has a very small warning but this stuff is deadly. I'm including Marley's Christmas picture. She is such a sweetheart and so good with Sadie and Beemer. They adore their big sister!

| Thanks for sharing Marley's story and the warning. I have not heard of that. I am glad she is doing well. Thank goodness for an alert and knowledgeable vet. I love the picture. Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas

| Thanks everyone! She's a love! I think about it every year around Christmas since that's when it happened. I will probably post this every year. If it can save just one dog it is worth it. She is a very lucky girl!
