| My 5 year old daughter locked and shut our bathroom door with Jewels inside and now she is locked in. Shes barking and crying and scratching on the door. We never shut our dogs in a room so she doesnt know what to think. I have tried to get through the handle with a tiny screwdriver there is a little hole but I cant get it. I am now waiting for my husband to get home so he can hopefully get her out.

| Poor thing! She must be scared! I don't know if you should talk to her so that she can hear your voice to calm her, or if that will make for too nervous & anxious?? Good luck - hopefully your husband will be home soon!

| OH poor baby, Is there a window??? Give your daughter a hug, I'm sure she's worried too. Good thing your husbands on the way. They always know what to do. Please keep us posted.

| Why they make those locks on those doors so unhuman friendly is beyond me! I hope your husband gets home fast too...

| If you have a toothpick that should work. We have a cake tester that is just the right size. Good luck. |

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | Poor Jewels, don't worry eventually she will scratch her way out....I'm kidding....but if I go in the bathroom and don't let Trace in WITH me....he sounds like he'll come through the door. If you just have a hole on this side and not a regular key type....a paper clip or bobby pin will work if you put it inside. Worse case....unscrew the knob from the door.

| I was going to suggest a bobby-pin, but they would probably be in the bathroom. Is she calming down any? Hope she is out soon and not too stressed out. |

| I hope you get her out soon. For reasons like this and small children I always keep one of those screwdriver keys on top of my bathroom door.(on the molding)

| Next time you are out at Home Depot or Lowes they have those special keys just for those bathroom doors. I'd suggest to pick one up and put it over your door jam or somewhere you can get to it next time this sort of thing happens. ![]() Oh and for the time being to keep your baby calm...if you can look underneath the door you can push some kibbles of the dog food under the door and make it like a game while you are talking to them...my dogs love that game.
