what do you do with the apple cider vinegar??

Apple Cider Vinegar for Dogs
LOTS of benefits-mostly when you rub it on their skin ( I actually only do it on feet and legs personally) it prevents parasites as the acidity repels them (do this after a bath only) furthermore, having a small amount (based on your dog's weight) I used 1/2 teaspoon in 2 cups water for my Yorkies (I use flavored water) it creates PH balance most dogs don't have which can counteract acid reflux-vomiting of bile-glassiness (can you tell I have a Miniature Schnauzer) I used apple cider vinegar in conjunction with a raised feeder and a water bottle when two of my dogs had reflux and vomiting issues-we no longer have the issues period-no prescriptions, no surgery-just basic changes! Apple cider vinegar also works wonders for people I noted to a lady in another forum on it I had been prescribed several antacids-they are a band-aid I started a regiment of apple cider vinegar (mothers) and no longer even take over the counter antacids (antacids only cause your body to create more acid its a bad cycle an actual acid makes the body adjust and stop producing so much balancing you and curing for the most part). I've also heard that apple cider vinegar in a "rub" for dogs is good for basic skin irritation-careful with open wounds or a really bad rash, I use it carefully with triple antibiotic Neosporin ointment-I'd be hesitant as it might burn and hurt them so be careful of this-it may work but still so does isotropic alcohol. A little in ears (and dried properly) also works for parasites and for cleaning purposes.

okay guys..so i was looking at snickers belly today..and noticed that he has a rash on his tummy! it looks like an allergic reaction to something.and then i looked at his butt..and noticed, a ittle at the top of his anus..he rubbed his butt on the carpet so hard that he developed a burn on his butt!! could it be that he had a reaction to the shaver the groomer used???? anyone else had this problem??? she used hypoallergenic shampoo on him.i did some googling on line and some ppls dogs get irritated by the groomers shavers.

:thumbup: Agree with Brit! De-worming is actually putting poison in their system. Necessary if they have worms, but definately not something I want to do if I don't have to. I don't like having to worm puppies twice before they go to new homes when my dogs do not and have never had worms; but that is what they require for a health certificate here.

Mine like to itch their behinds after a shave too, especially if I get a little too close with the trimmer.

Hmmmmmmm hard call to rush to the vet or not...definitely should call groomer and let them know about the rash and ask what they used so forth and how well they sterilize. I was totally worried your lil guy could have gotten a funky irritant nasty from the groomer not being sterile enough-maybe, maybe not tho, could just be from getting nicked and getting normal yuckies in there. You really want to see a vet if it's not gone in 3 DAYS, or gets any worse...hydrogen peroxide it and make sure it stays clean-you may need to put a cone on his head to keep him from licking, also triple antibiotic Neosporin (I like that one it has a little pain reliever in it) the generic works the same, obviously.
Above is for rash on tummy-if he's rubbing his bottom so hard he's hurting his bottom-go the vet something is really irritating him-who knows parasite, bacteria, fungus, just didn't like anal glands being clean-they weren't cleaned properly and became actually blocked...anybody's guess vet's job to diagnose-at least you'll find out and if it's "nothing" I'd do the above on the bottom too (hydrogen peroxide and Neosporin-some vets don't do cultures for rash and then leave you with it'll be fine in a couple days-ugh).

Something a little less harsh to try would be oatmeal shampoo... it works great for irritated skin and also provides much soothing..... you can also buy an oatmeal spray.

his burn on near snickers butt has scabbed over, his rash has gotten a little better..not much.. though if he doesnt get better, i am def taking him to the vet..geeze..i hope he didnt get something from the groomer..i paid a lot for that one!!! :mad:

That stinks, not necessarily a bad groomer-it seems to actually be ind of common apparently-actually that's scary! Glad to her he's doing better and it has scabbed over might want to still put Neosporin on the scab and make sure if it breaks it has an antibiotic on it to prevent a secondary infection...let us know everything is okay in a couple days...:thumbup:

i just noticed that his paws are really irritated too! red and they look itchy!! looks like eczema.. :(
