| ear problem? Carmel has been itching his ears for around two months now...I had started cleaning his ear shortly after I found out about the constant itching. In the beginning, both his and Emma's ears had a lot of dark stuff in it, which I suspected was ear mites. Last night, when I cleaned their ears, there was very very few left. However, he's still itching, but Emma is not. I clean their ears with a solution that kills ear mites and cleans their ears. I use a Q-tip to get the black stuff out, but I don't go in too deep because I don't want to damage their ears. Is there any other suggestions for this problem??

| He needs to see the vet. May not be mites at all. Could be bacteria or yeast. Yeast infections are very common in Yorkies. BTW, qtips are okay, but only if a vet or tech has explained how. The flap needs to be bent back and that way you can't go too far.
