I have something very simlar to what bellbaby08 posted a picture of. I live in Japan, and they sell them in the stores, basically doggie play pens with a plastic bottom, and they have them in all sizes. Thats what I use for my 5 month old Blossom all the time. It great...bedding on one side and pee pads on the other. When we are going to be gone for a long period of time, I put a little water and food in there for her. At first she would potty in it, now, she holds it, even though there is a pad in there for her. I recommend something like it...she is doing great with housebreaking also. I take her out often, give her treats when she goes, and lots of praise. I have one pee pad out in the livingroom for her, she only goes on it if I dont take her out soon enough, otherwise she has learned to go out. My 2 year old Bella doesnt stay in anything anytime, and I trained her the same way as Im doing with Blossom. So with your litle one staying in a pen, really recommend, if you can find one, something with a bottom, to avoid pee pads moving around and accidents on your floors. It will just give her more room than her crate, but not too much like the kitchen. Blossom loves hers. She stays in it at night too

Oh that sounds great. I wonder if they sell those in California or do you have a website? Thanks!

That sounds like a great little pen you have, But I dont want to put pads in with him, and I have never seen anything like that here in the states, so its probably going pretty hard to find!

I order both of mine off of Ebay....dog accessories...xpens...they have the floors in them and a mash top...they come in all sizes and colors. I have 2 a big one 57x36 and a small one 44x24...I love them...and very easy to store and they come with a carring case to travel with.

THANK YOU VIVIANSNICKERS!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!

So after looking on craigs list and seeing how cheap I can get a really nice pack and play..( i'm talking 20 bucks!!) I talked to DH and he thinks that is a wonderful idea!! I just wanted to thank you for giving me such a great idea, I would have never thought of that!! And to hear how much Snickers likes it, I think Peanut will too, Peanut really really likes his crate so I know he will just LOVE a play pen!! We are going to get one this weekend!

So far we are doing pretty good on the training, it is day 3 Dh gets up before me so he is in charge of the morning care for pnut, DH said when he tried to take him on a walk, pnut just peed, pooped and ran to the door haha! DH said it was pretty chilly!! But we haven't had any accidents! So I think we are doing pretty good!! Anyways I'll keep you posted, and if you can send me a pic of Snickers play pen!!

Thanks again

the babies packnplay has a wood floor in it...the play yard is a canvas material very thick that does not leak.

oh and the price for a baby packnplay is 120.00 in walmart unless you can get one used, I just got one for my grandbaby lol...and the play yards I paid 40.00 for my small one and 75.00 for my big one but the play yards are for dogs so the floors are leak proof and it has a zip up mash type material for the roof so you can fully inclose them just like a crate, with a packnplay you can't inclose them and I don't know about your baby but my girl would clam out of a packnplay easy cause she clamed out of the play yard once cause I didn't think I needed to zip the top closed and when I got home she was out...lol...I know a few people that use the packnplays for there small dogs and it works for them...if your baby will stay in it give it a try...I would put some type of plastic down on the floor of it tho cause they are wood with a lil padding and if he does potty in it, it will get into that wood and small.

and so glad to hear he is doing well so far on the potty training.

OH YAYYYYYY!!!!! YT was down for me this morning, so I couldn't get back to you. But I attached pics of how we set Snick's up. He's in there right now even though I am home, like I said, he BEGS to go in. He comes in and out all day. No--no pee pee pads in there b/c he is outside trained. As soon as we come home from work and greet him, he runs right to the door.

YES!!! We bought our used on craigslist for 10 bucks!!!! The guy who sold it to me kept it so nice and clean and looks brand new. I REALLY hope this works for peanut. It's so less harsh than a crate. I think crates are horrible. The mesh sides are soft and of course all his toys and blankets make it so cuddly for him. When we are home and he wants to go in, we give him his bully in there so he knows he is being a good boy and gets rewarded for being so good while in his pen.

Actually for the past few days, we had to take him out of there even though he kept running to it wanting to go in!!!! We want to cuddle and play with him and he wants to chill in his pen!! LOL. In the end I don't like any kind of confinement and I think after the new potential pup gets home and situated, Snick will be fine having free reign of the house again with his new brother. I can't wait!!!

SMILES!!!!

Very nice! Ya that one looks like the ones i have been looking at, nothing fancy! Im real excited to get him in there.. i really hope he doesnt pee in there but i dont think he will, he doesnt pee in his crate, plus it will have his blankets and beds in it so i think he wont want to pee on his stuff! Only my stuff haha. I think this will really help us, he can hold his pee soo im hoping the playpen works out! Thanks again!!!

The PackNPlay I have is by Graco and has a stiff heavy duty vinyl bottom. But it also came with a padding that goes into the bottom. So 1st the padding goes down, then Snick's thick fleece ABC blanket (see pics.)

Yes I like that...looks very comfy...I didn't think of one of them when Bella was a pup...I found the play yard and went with that...good thing I did cause she clamed out of it when I didn't think I needed the top zipped up LOL...Bella is fully outside trained now...so she has full run of the house now but I still lay a potty pad down in the bathroon just in caseLOL...and I just busted my play yards back out sunday I have a new yorkie baby Harley he is 12 weeks so potty training has begun again for us oh the joy..lol

And I hate a crate too..IMO they are only good for travel in a car for there safety.
