| ![]() Hi everyone! I'm sorry for the title of my thread!!! ![]() Im a little concern about my dog pooping too much (6 times a day) he is 6 month old and weight 3.1 pounds. I don't know but it doesn't seem normal to me the amount of times he does number 2. I got him when he was 3 month old, his breeder used to fed him Natural Choice which I don't like so I did a lot of research and I decide to put him on Great Life for Dogs. When he was on Natural choice he did poop once or twice a day, after I switched he stared going 7 times a day and two weeks ago I decided to switch to Orijen for puppies and even though he now goes 6 times a day, to me it seems too many times.... Any comments? Thank you so much in advance. Victor |

| ![]() I think that can be normal for a puppy...unless you are feeding grain free. And how much are you feeding? Are you free feeding or feeding 2-3 x per day?

| ![]() I would suggest you change. That isn't normal. Twice is really the max he should be going. I have never heard of that food. How about checking out these foods and do a gradual change over to a different food and see if that puts an end to it? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html

| ![]() I have had great success with Natural Balance Ultra. It comes in a small bite for small breeds. |

| ![]() That's what I feed. I have Natural Balance Ultra Premium Small Bites Chicken and Rice. She loves it and she only goes twice per day max.

| ![]() Puppies usually go more often than adults. But an overall rule of thumb is that the better the quality of the food, the less the poop they produce. The less fillers and more nutrients in the food, the more of the food they utilize, therefore producing/eliminating less ""by-product''. Usually...there is an exception to every rule....

| ![]() Jackson has never pooped 6x a day from what I can remember. He is 2 years old and he will occasionally have a 3rd poop for the day, but 3 is the max number he will have in a day. You're probably over-feeding which is really easy to do or the food is crappy.

| ![]() Even when mine were young and free fed they didn't go that often- now they only go twice a day. I think you should consider changing the food, or making sure you are feeding the correct amount of food. Also- is your dog on a schedule of feeding, or is he free fed? |

| ![]() It may be the food you are feeding him. There is a sticky on here about good quality dog food. If it is extremely soft or runny I suggest you take a stool sample to your vet. He may have picked up hitch hikers ![]()

| ![]() According to the link below Great Life is a canned food, 5 star. Maybe he needs a little bulk in his diet (kibble) along with the canned. Dog Food Reviews | Dog Food Ratings

| ![]() I see you are feeding Orijen. That is a great food. Stick with it a little longer. How much are you feeding? I went to the website and they suggest 1/2 to 1 cup a day. So try splitting 3/4 cups into 3 meals a day or 3/4 cups into 2 meals a day. Don't do free feeding either if you are. Put it down for 15 mins and then take it away. ![]()
