It was indeed Margaret who collected him and is fostering. She says he's settling in very well with her crew. He took to her and her husband right away, after growling and snapping after everyone we met when I took him around the neighborhood to try to find his people (he was warmly wrapped and in a bag, and LOVED it).

Anyhow, he was found near the Franklin Park area of South Trenton, close to Broad & Liberty.

He's evidently bigger than I'd guessed -- at 12 pounds he may be a Silky. Next to my 80 + pound lunkhead, he looked like a toy!

Margaret hears the breathing issues I'd mentioned, says maybe a collapsed trachea. She's very impressive and I'm so happy he's safe and with someone knowledgeable.

A volunteer from the Trenton shelter got in touch after reading the Craigslist ad. I'm going to call the shelter this afternoon to keep him in their thoughts.

Looks like I found his folks! Greyhound Joe and I went to put up flyers at the park (it was too cold and windy yesterday!), and I saw something flapping away on a phone pole. Well, lo and behold, it was a missing Yorkie flyer. i called the lady, and she told me when her dog went missing. The day and time match, so I gave her the rescue's #, and called Margaret to let her know. Margaret will, of course, ask for more proof of ownership, but it looks really good that the little guy will be going home to his skin-siblings for the holidays.

Margaret handed off the little boy to his Mom a short while ago!! He's home, he's safe, and I'm sure the kids are over the moon to have him back. The funny thing is, we live on the same street, and I'd never noticed him. I'll be keeping an eye out now, and hope to see him again (behind his darned fence!)

Don't fully describe in FOUND posters ( I posted a pic of the found dog with my dogs and said found dog please identify her this way they had to choose which one was her out of the pictured dogS)-you don't want some weirdo claiming him and not the real owner-call the police and animal control, to report the found dog-also take him into get micro-chip scanned! I found a dog over the weekend, same deal no collar-she had a a chip though. I couldn't figure out why when I had posted on craigslist, signs in the neighborhood, the community billboard, called the police, animal control etc no one reported her missing or had responded-well her owner was out of town and the irresponsible teenager was supposed to be watching the family dog...we got her back home-hopefully a teenager got grounded and the owner won't make that mistake again, kenneling would have been way better!. Someone on here suggested eBay classifieds also, I think reporting to animal control and local police and getting dog scanned (almost all vets will do it-totally free to you) is the most important first steps-after you might have to take into a vet for an exam-you never know who needs meds or has food allergies! Be careful what you feed them and really monitor behavior! Read the "THINK LOST NOT ABANDONED"
