				   | In answer to the other post here about Pet-co cutting off a piece of tongue when they groomed her dog. When I had Snoodles spayed, she was missing a chunk of her tongue and he took out one of her permanent teeth. I never even noticed it for a while, as she was spayed at the same time, and I was busy keeping care of her---then, when I resumed brushing her teeth, I noticed her tongue and her permanent tooth was removed. I made an appointment with the same vet, as I was furious. I couldn't get him to admit anything, said she probably bit the piece off while under anesthesia, and as for the permanent tooth, she probably didn't have one there in the first place. I know she did have it, as I was brushing her teeth all the time. I never thought about going to a lawyer, just took it and was very up-set. I guess things do happen, but I was not, nor am I still very happy about it. Pat |

				   | If that was a human doctor, #@*# would have hit the fan, but b/c it was an animal doctor, he can just deny and go on with his practice. Unbelievable--I would tell everyone I know about that doctor (if you can even call him that) and how he mistreats animals.

				   | Well, to answer Rhonda's question, she seems fine with the big vee out of the tip of her tongue, It doesn't grow back, and I get mad everytime I see it. Also her side tooth that is missing. I guess it is good it wasn't a front tooth. MaxiMillion: Where would I report him? Remember I live in a small town, so don't know to whom I would go. report him to the vet medical board at the nearest largest city. I would also let your vet know about this and demand that he reinburse you for what you have paid for the spay and the disfigurement of your baby's tounge and missing tooth, if possible let him know that you will contact the newspaper and tell them this story or even write a letter to the editor to post your story. your poor baby please keep us posted | |

				   | It's awful that this happened to your pup! You know, people do make mistakes. My cousin is a doctor and she is constantly saying that it annoys her that people think she can do no wrong but she is fully able to muck things up from time to time. Making an honest mistake is not the problem. The problem is that people are being careless and then NOT TELLING you about it. That's sneaky and irresponsible. |

				   | As I stated above, though I brought her back to the vet and showed him what happened when she was spayed, and he had an answer for it all. For sure the wrong answer, but it is his word against mine, I would think. I was pretty dang mad and upset, but he just had an answer for everything. Pat |

				   | I am sorry about your baby... that is so sad... you should report that to the medical borad. That vet shouldn't be performing surgery on any other animal. Wonder if this has happened before.. you should do some asking around... |

				   | I feel so bad your poor baby had to go through that and it sure seems we've read a lot of horror stories on here lately about vets or groomers. I can understand you getting upset whenever you see her poor little tongue...it's a constant reminder everytime you look at the little sweetie! *HUGS* |
