How many of you keep.... In touch with your breeder? I try to send an email with pictures every 6 mouths or so.. I know that if I was a breeder then i would like to know how the puppies were doing with their families.. Just wondering how many others do this  |
I keep in touch by email and phone, plus I will see her every once in a while. She has been to my house and I to hers. She is a nice lady and so interesting to talk with. She knows her yorkies! I will be getting a Christmas card from her any time now. I look forward to it every year as she always uses a picture of her & her husband along with all of their yorkies! |
As a breeder I try to keep up with them. I send them emails every few months to see how everything is going. I tell them up front i want to be in there lives as long as they have my puppy. |
All my dogs are rescues, save one and I do keep in touch with her breeder. We are pretty good friends and she knows all about Opal. In fact, Opal was the first dog she bred with a performance title. Karen even has some of Opal's agility pictures on her website. |
I keep in touch will all my families and vice a versa. I visit those that I placed in Texas and of course see the ones I placed here, since I offer free grooming for each pup I place..... |
I think that's great!! I feel the same way and even thought she does not contact me... I would think she would like to know how Izzy is doing :) I mean that the least I can do for give me the most loving little baby in the whole wide world :aimeeyork.... We love our litle Isabella... |
I do talk with the breeder pretty often. I always have some question I need to know. If I were a breeder I know I would always want to know about the babies I had placed. My problem would be I would never want to place any of them. lol!!!!! |
I usually send my yorkie's breeder a Christmas card, which always has my little girl with Santa on the front. :P |

We keep in touch with Teddy's breeder from time to time via email. |
Yes either via personal visits, at shows together, training or emails. |
I facebook Max owner so he sees how Max is doing and before I took him home I had Ivy with me to see if the two of them would get along so he meet Ivy too. |
I keep in touch with Brielle's breeder on YT and through e-mail.:) |
Funny that this post has just come up. My babies will be leaving to go to their new homes this week and i have and will stress how important it is to keep in contact not only with me but with the stud owner. I not only love knowing how they are doing, but it is important to know the health and temperment ect. of these babies so we know which direction to continue with our breeding's. Even if it is only a few times a year. |
I've sent Sadies Pictures with a card or a note a few times. Sadie is the best dog I ever had, in every way and she is so adorable. I really thought he would be interested on her progress. He never responded so I stopped. His loss. |
I send pics and updates of Ally to her breeder. I actually called her when I was looking for another little one, but she didn't have a female so I looked elsewhere. She is so proud of Ally, she keeps her little photos on her frig. I have sent one pic of Tia to her breeder and will probably only send only one more to let them know how she is doing. I'm still upset that they adopted her out with some many medical issues that spread throughout my house and my neighbor's (who has cancer). |
Keeping in touch with your breeder is dangerous. It can lead to bringing home more Yorkies! ;););) We love Max and Teddy's breeder and send her periodic updates. I wish we lived closer so that I could have her teach me how to groom the boys. |

I am friends with two of the breeders of my dogs. Ruby is from a puppymill so the only contact I would have with them would be to try and shut them down! I do keep in contact with Reno's breeder , sending pictures and seeing her at shows. Razz's breeder (Tammy), and I stay in contact through YT and FB on almost a daily basis....I love it! I've never known a more caring, devoted breeder than Tammy. When she asks that you send pictures or stay in touch, it is not just talk....she *really* wants you to stay in touch. We talk and compare Razz to his mom, Livi, discuss his endearing personality, and how much we both love him♥ |
We send update pics and notes all of the time to Mia's birthplace. We state it that way, she doesn't know she is a d o p t e d.... We have also went out and visited with Beth and she sends emails. We feel blessed to know she cares enough to follow up. And I can't imagine not letting her know what Mia is doing and how she is progressing into a lovely adult girl. |
I love staying in touch with the adoptive parents of my Yorkies. It's like a great big extended family! And when they take the time to send photos...woohoo...it's the best! I am totally appreciative. :D:animal36:D |
I give her a call every two months or so, I recommend her all the time, she is amazing. I'm trying to get a hold of her too, cause last year we brought her some fresh lobsters... lol I'm assuming she would like that again this year, heheh. We treat our breeder quite well. :) |
I stay in touch with Pixie and Roxie's breeder. We have become phone friends. |
I keep in touch with my breeders. I send pictures and emails all the time. I especially like the breeder I got Wyatt from. |
Now, I didn't get my dogs from what I call a proper breeder (I won't be doing that again, but circumstances made it so that we got our dogs from a Backyard breeder who was kind, careful, had some morals and standards but was likely in it mostly for the money) but I do send pictures and such as I think if I had adopted out a dog I would like to get updates. Without my permission she used one of the pictures I sent her as an update to a member of the same small-dog playgroup as a type of advertisement that I went back for another dog as I liked her dogs so much. Not sure how I feel about that. I got lucky, both dogs are healthy and happy and came well-socialized. Next time I am going with a registered breeder who selectively breeds and does complete testing for liver shunts, luxating patella etc. |
One of the things I really cherish is all the wonderful new friends I have met by having my puppies join their family. I would absolutely freak out if I was not kept updated, lol, as I form a very special bond with each of my babies. I look forward to seeing emails with pics from my babies. Its funny but each one has a totally different personality and I remember each one for something special he or she was special for while I raised them. I have lost contact with maybe 2 of my past pups and that really upsets me but I am happy for the ones that return my emails :) |
I keep in touch with and send photos to Sophie's breeder. I buy Sophie's grooming products from her and send Christmas photo greeting cards to her. She has always been very responsive and does a good job keeping in contact with us. She really cares about the quality of life her former puppies have and how they are growing up. She comments on every photo I send. We are thankful to her for our sweet little puppy :animal-pa |
I like to keep in touch with the breeder. I did with my cockers and I did so with Troy. Troy's breeder passed away a few months after we got him. I often times feel bad that we don't have a breeder to discuss Troy with. I did happen to find where Troy's father was rehomed and post on that breeder's guestbook every now and again. |
I know that I LOVE to hear from the new owners of our Aussie pups (who are a little over a year old now). They email us pictures and tell us how the dogs are doing with their trial (sheep and cattle) training. BUT I tried sending a Christmas card two years in a row to Tatum's breeder after getting her and never got any kind of response so I don't think she really cared much. |
