| i'm so mad >:(((((( okay, so today i was really sick [still am] and my boyfriend had to go to work. so we decided to ask my boyfriend's sister who calls herself an ultimate petlover to take care of our little boy, buchi. i kinda got pissed when she texted me and said that she bought him a new collar and leash. i was thinking to myself, "he already has one? what is that supposed to mean?" but shoved of the idea and thought that maybe she was just really happy to be able to bond with buchi. but then.. when my boyfriend got home, he noticed that buchi had something stuck by his mouth. he thought it was plastic or something but worse.. it was my boyfriend's medicine! i can't believe how careless my boyfriend's sister is. buchi ate a medicine for colds and she didnt even know until my boyfriend got home! oh my gosh. i'm sooooo pissed. i dont know what to think. i dont know if buchi will be okay i can't believe how she had all the time to buy buchi a new collar and leash but didnt have time to actaully do her job and look after him (( we'll be bringing him to his vet first thing in the morning. i just hope there's nothing wrong with him. he's acting normal right now but i want to make sure that he's safe. i'll never trust my boyfriend's sister to take care of buchi ever again :[

| I'm sorry that everyone is sick. Fall colds are the worst - hope you and the bf get well soon. If your little Buchi actually ingested a cold pill it could be a very serious health issue. What kind of pill was it? Did he actually eat the pill or just lick around on a capsule and it stuck to his fur. If it were my little guy, I wouldn't wait until morning - it may be too late. I'd do my best to figure out just how much he actually ate and call the vet or poison control. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | Yikes. I agree with chattiesmom. If he actually ate a pill, please get the box with the ingredients listed and call a 24 hour vet asap. I'm so sorry. I would be livid if someone let that happen to Thor.

| If you do wait for morning, monitor him ALOT. We had an issue with Harley a while back, and when he started to get sick, it was quick. Watch for no drinking (fill that water bowl to a line so you know exactly what he's drinking) and watch for lack of appetite. If he is drinking and eating that is a great sign... Harley ingested something that upset him, and he didn't eat or drink over night. Later that morning he got pretty sick. I'm not trying to scare you, but here's what to do if things don't go well in the next few hours. If you see diarrhoea with blood, make sure you baggie it (well actually any diarrhoea whether it has blood or not), don't clean it up and throw it away, the vet will need that. Also bring the box of the med you think he ingested with you to the vet. They have a poison control line that'll tell them what to do. One diarrhoea isn't the end of the world, so don't panic, just be ready to up and leave... Wrap him in a white blanket on the way to the vet, that way you know if he goes again. A second pool of diarrhoea, means drive faster, he may need a shot to assure he doesn't get too low on sugar/water. Same with throwing up. If he does one or the other more than once each, he's going to be dehydrated. Good luck through the night. Remember to keep calm. I'm sure your baby will be fine, and please keep us posted. I'm not trying to scare you with the information I just gave. I want to prepare you for what to do in case he gets sick before you can see a vet. These little guys are surprisingly tough, and if it makes you feel better, my Harley survived ingesting what we think to be a poisoned coachroach (long story) anyway he got dehydrated and had to go on a bland diet, but he was fine on some stomach settling meds.

| Always keep hydrogen peroxide on hand for such emergencies. You can induce vomit and get the bad stuff out before it causes damage. How to Make a Dog Vomit Using Hydrogen Peroxide | eHow.com |

| Buchi How is Buchi today? What did the vet say?? I hope all is well, I lost my Zoey when she ate a Tylenol -- I did not know it could be harmful and a week or so later she got really sick and had kidney failure. The vet said she had weak kidneys before but I have always felt so guilty. So I was worried about your furbaby.

| thank you so much everyone for your concern, i really appreciate it. everyone's doing fine and thank God buchi is too. buchi ended up vomiting it this morning. the vet said that he'll be fine. i just need to make him eat and drink lots of water. he's actin like his usual lazy spoiled self now. lol today we took him out to the park for some fresh air and he's really doing fine. it's kinda annoying though that my boyfriend's sister didnt even say sorry or something and she seems to be the one mad at us. x.x and she calls herself a petlover. -__________- i can't get over it. *sigh* i just hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. *ohyea, buchi ate lotsa food today. this made me really happy lol but he poopied a lot too -____- lol but as long as he's happy and in shape. <3
