Sometimes Adie Amazes Me

I've heard that they can smell a change in the person's breath. What also amazes me is dogs that can alert when their person is about to have an epileptic seizure.

I read an article about a Schnauzer that can alert on a persons area that contains cancer cells. My psychic, Sylvia Browne, says dogs can see a blue aura around people who like dogs. If you think about it, dogs do tend to go around people who like them and avoid those that don't.

I think they can smell the change.
Adie has so many special little stories....I almost lost her at 7 weeks and along with help from the emergency vets and regular vets (AND YorkieTalk members) we saved her and brought her back to health. She and I bonded pretty tightly right off the bat because of that I think. Then there was the time Skeeter tried to assassinate her. She wasn't breathing and my wonderful dh brought her back with rescue breaths. I think she thinks she is a people for sure but it goes farther than that with her. I think she thinks she is actually part of me. I tear up just saying that. God I love that little girl!

That is amazing. You should contact one of the news programs that do medical segments. They might want to do a feature on your little Adie, "the amazing live glucose monitor!" Animals have so much intuition.

Thanks so much. That is something to think about. It sure wouldn't hurt to draw attention to the fact that medical alert dogs exist. I do get comments and questions about that. People have no idea that any other types of service dogs exist except seeing eye dogs.


I do find it hard to talk to people that are too nosey though. I get, "What kind of medical problem do you have?" a lot. I answer but want to tell them it isn't any of their business. I think it would be hard for me to go that public.
