| Change of Personality? Hi, I would like to know if spaying/neutering changes the personality of our babies? Alot of people tell me that they will not be as playful and will get fat and lazy if I neuter/spay my babies. Thanks. |

| It all depends on the dogs.. I am not sure about Yorkies, but my family has Lhasa's, Poodles and Chiahuahua's and all of them put on weight and calmed down alot after being spayed and neutered..Except the Lhasa, his personality never really changed although he started peeing on his own leg and stinks all the time now. I haven't neutered Tucker yet.. Hope you get some good advice... |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I haven't really seen too many people say that about their yorkie - I don't see ANY change at all with mine. |

| Samson got neutered almost 2 weeks ago and it is probably too early to tell but he doesn't seem any different as of yet. He does seem to eat a bit more but he never really ate that much before so I'm kinda glad that he now has a healthy appetite. He's still just as active and excitable as ever so right now I think he is still burning off all the food he eats. |

| The reason I am asking is that my little boy Moses is such a clown. He loves playing and running all day. I would hate to do something that would change him. My little girl on the other hand, is more sedate and isn't as active. She will play awhile and then go take a nap or just watch Moses as he plays. I am concerned and was thinking of just spaying the female and leaving Mose's hormones intact . Mose is 7 months and my little girl is almost 4 months and I am still undecided. Wanted to get all your opinions on the subject before I make a decision . |

| I had Peawee neutered 7 months ago and it never changed his personality. It didn't make him eat any more either. The one change though he quit trying to hump our cocker spaniel.. She was ever so grateful on the other hand lol

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | That is defintely not the case for my girls...they are just as playful and loving as always...they did each put on about a pound after they were spayed but they are by no means fat or lazy!! They are playful little fuzzballs....
