Get excited to see a healthy dog eat a meal. Bath a dog in the kitchen sink. |
Get excited over dog poop, especially the normal ones. |
Great thread! I can relate to all of them especially the clothing and rearranging my entire life so they can go, or I stay home because I don't want to leave them. How about... Buying them a stroller so they can go more places with me and if they get tired they can ride. I never thought I would see the day when my hubby (who made fun of me when I got the stroller) takes the stroller from me and pushes the babies all through the park and he doesn't care who sees him or what they think. lol I love it. If *I* try to push the stroller he will step in and push right on ahead of me so he can push them. |

My husband has never been much of a dog person. And when we would go to our camp in the summer and our neighbor would always bring their little dog with them. They take him everywhere. My husband would always laugh and shake his head when he would overhear the guy saying Daddy's baby this and Daddy's baby that. My husband would remark, "If I ever say such things or act that way, just shoot me" Well, now we got 2 yorkies and all he says is Daddy's Babies this and Daddy's baby that. He hands feed them. They refuse to eat theirselves because of this:rolleyes:In fact now as I type he is hand feeding them their dinner which is chicken, sweet pototoes and rice:rolleyes:I always laugh at him and ask him if he wants me to "shoot" him yet for acting this way:pHe says he just never would have believed that he would love them and be so attached to them like he is.:D |
I love this thread!!! I brings back a lot of smiles, and memories. |

I'd Never Have Believed My Husband Would . . . My husband ran a squad of homicide detectives in the 5th largest city in the US. So, he has seen it all. He WAS NOT a dog person. He looked at others with their dogs and their emotional attachment with disbelief and disdain. Then, we rehomed Bella. How he has changed. I can't believe he: 1. Sings the "potty song" to her whenever he takes her out to do her business. He made it up and I've heard him singing it to her outside at 11:30 p.m. in the wind and pouring rain. 2. Gives her a "Greenie" by holding it between his teeth and having her jump up on the back of the chair to take it from his mouth. (yes, we give her Greenies, never hand any problems) 3. Takes her in the car whenever he has to run errands. 4. Warms towels in the dryer for bathtime. 5. Gives her hour long "puppy massages" while he watches TV. 6. Warms her crate with a heating pad before he places her in it for the evening. 7. Picks her up, holds her out in front, makes eye contact and dances around the house calling her "Doggie, my little doggie". 8. Ask for "kisses" when he holds her up to his nose (at least 50x per day) 9. Doesn't drive to our summer home cross country anymore, flies, so she won't have to spend 4 days in the car 10. Always goes out in the dark with a flashlight so she doesn't have to potty in the dark I could go on and on , but I think you get the idea. There are times when I wonder if he loves his furbaby more than his wife. Tee-hee! Remember he was NOT a dog person. Oh, how my life and his was changed forever by a 3.5 lb. Yorkie. |

i cannot tell you how many guys i have gone out on dates with that i meet at the dog park. i had a guy i go to school with pretend to like me so he could come over and play with my dog. Guys love dogs. |
I never thought I would feed a dog on my bed, pack a bag for my dog, have clothes for my dog, 20 plus toys, have insurance on a dog, think about constantly when Im at work, rather spend time with him than most of my friends, take him on 3000 plus mile road trips. They steal your heart in a very big way, I would die to protect him, he is my life my baby dog |
What an awsome thread this is!! I loved reading each and every post made so far and would like to add a bit of my experience to it.... Until i got a Yorkie (and a Maltese too;)) i never thought i would see my hubby (who was in no way a dog person) sit on his recliner at night and the little ones jump up on it with him and he covers them up like babies and tells me "shhhhh dont wake them!" until i got a yorkie i never thought i would stand at the door to the garage and explain to them that mommy and daddy will be back shortly and that they should just be good and be nice to each other and that we will miss them too!!:D It takes an extra 5 minutes just to get out to the car!! lol Having them in our lives has done crazy things to us!! (but we love it!!) :D;) |
