| ![]() She was still favoring the foot this morning when she went for boosters. So we did an xray to be sure -- nothing broken! Great news! I probably did not need to get the xray but feel better knowing nothing is broke. Doc said he could feel everything well except in the paw, so now we know that is good too. He did give some Moxicam (anti-inflammatory) to help with any pain. He gave her a double for today and one for the next 4 days if she needs it. Now I can relax a little but still try to keep the other two dogs away from her. They do not understand that! I'll get them all up in my lap together for a nap later. That will make everyone happy. ![]()

| ![]() Are you crate resting her or is she playing and acting normally. It took my Max about 3 weeks to completely heal from a limp. The x-rays showed nothing abnormal. The first 2 weeks i wasn't very strict with crate rest, but as soon as I was he healed much quicker. He just started limping again yesterday on another foot. He had a full day of crate rest and this morning is fine. I would try to limit all activity. Poor baby. Yes, they are so fragile, even at 10 pounds.

| ![]() Scooter got stepped on yesterday, his paw, and he yelped and yelped...I picked him up and checked him all out and then I waited to see if he would walk on it and he wouldnt so I thought, here we go, off to the vet, as I am getting ready to go to the vet the cat comes upstairs and off he went after her. No limping at all. I think he just wanted me to baby him a little bit more. I love this little guy |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() I know it's going to be hard to keep her quiet. When Scarlett hurt her leg a couple weeks back while playing with Rhett, keeping her from reinjuring herself became a full time job. Poor things don't understand that they need to rest to get better. I definitely second the crate idea- though she's going to try and break your heart with the forlorn looks.

| ![]() Also keep in mind that the muscle relaxer will make her feel less pain. If she doesn't feel pain she will play normally. It was when the muscle relaxer was stopped (after about 10 days) that Max didn't really feel like playing because he realized he was hurt. I bet a day or two she'll be just fine. Give her some good chews and lots of love.

![]() Rhett's Mom -- It sounds like you know my Annie -- she can certainly give the forlorn looks when she is not getting her way! Crating her is not to her liking either. She had to go in there when I ran over to my mom & dad's this evening, but other than that, I have mostly toted her from room to room with me. She's on my lap now. Thanks everyone for the good wishes for Annie. I will keep the thread updated. Hopefully it will only be a short term problem!

| ![]() I'm really glad that Annie is doing better. I have a fear that my two 50 lb bassets are going to squash Zach who is just 5 lbs now. They play so rough but it seems like my Basset Hounds are always the ones crying because Zach bites their ears. Yet when they all run ouside togethe Zach is always in the middle of them along with Zoe my Shorkie. So far so good. |
