Was a new law needed or just enforcement of current laws? I really believe Missourians were guilt-tripped into voting for this by using emotionally charged phrases and implying this bill would deliver more than it possibly could.
This law will only affect licensed breeders. It will do nothing to stop those that are flying under the radar, which, presumably, is where the worst abuses are happening.

AMEN....wrong bill to vote for! it's not going to help it's going backwards it's less defined less help and less less less than the current laws. changing the laws are not the solution...having the funds and enforcing the laws to begin with on ALL breeders is the issue and it's not going to be fixed in the least. sure we limit good breeders down to under 50 dogs. and then where do the excess dogs go? the shelters are full. our homes are overflowing with fosters and shelter rescues...are we just going to euthanize all the extra dogs we'll have now? and the puppy mills will still operate off the radar in their grimey shack hidden deep in the MO ozarks...makes me sick.
and to think KC and St. Louis and the boot hill carried the vote. these city people have no flipping idea what they did just now. the impact it will have on the people out on farms or the breeders that have a beautiful breeding program and are doign it right that will now have no money left to feed their families and will get a misdemeanor if they are caught with a piece of kibble in their dog's water dish...it's crazy. i'm so shocked and upset over this whole thing.
