| I don't think you'll regret for a minute getting Dudley a sister or a brother. I think you should follow your heart when picking one. I understand why you'd want to get one from the same breeder as Dudley, but if you prefer to get a younger puppy, that's what you should do. Fourteen months is still a baby, and I'm not really sure about this, but Dudley might adjust easier to a younger puppy because he will know it's a baby. Whatever you decide to do, I think it will be wonderful to bring another little one into your lives for both you and Dudley . |

| I am very excited for you and Dudley! Wishing you the best in making a decision. I believe the right age for a second dog depends on the dog and you. My second, Teddy, was 8 months old when I brought him home. I didn't want to go through puppyhood again, and I thought Maximo would prefer to have someone closer in age. Teddy was still puppy-ish enough for both us. Everything worked out beautifully for us. My fears of an older dog adjusting to our habits and routines were unfounded. Teddy took to his new home as if I had raised him myself. |
