| Halloween Howls I just bought a catapiller costume for my yorkie Zach. Well I've been trying to get him into it for a couple of days now and no luck. He fights and howls. I was going to try a different kind of costume but this was kind of expensive. I'm hoping that I can get him into it while my friend is at home with me although I don't want to make him unhappy. I just ordered two hot dog costumes for my Bassets, I figure it's a good costume because they are long. They are very easy to deal with and so is Zoe, but Zach is a real problem. |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | How does the costume go on? is it like a t-shirt? Poppy was a little wriggler the first few times I put clothes on her, I used to put her between my legs and keep her in place with my knees. I would give her a treat straight afterwards and now she is no bother, she sits still on my knee to get them on. I also only put them on her when we are going out, so I think that might be one of the reasons she dosnt mind them on her now.. because she knows it means walkies. But the way to go is treats I think!

| How is the costume constructed? Levi is fine with T-shirts and jackets, but if I try to put something that felt "strange" to him (for example, he cannot stand to wear hoods) then he fights it and tries to wiggle out of it. I usually just give up, but I understand that you spent a lot of money on this costume and want him to wear it and be totally adorable for Halloween! Keep trying it on him so he can get used to how it feels and give him treats. Hopefully he will get used to it!

| Wobie is the same way as Levi. He'll tolerate anything but hoods. Most halloween costumes for dogs do have hoods. I put them on Wobie anyway, but just don't put the hood over his head. This year he is Mickey Mouse, but his ears will be hanging from his hood on his back. Oh well, he's still cute! I have seen caterpillar costumes and they are really cute! I hope you find a way to work with the costume and help Zach love it as much as you do. Probably treats, treats, and more treats for being a good boy with the costume on. By the way, your Bassets will be adorable too. I keep trying to get my boyfriend to get the hot dog costumes for his three dacshunds.
