| Rant one of those teacup nuts My husband and I went to PetSmart today, we took are 4 dogs along because they enjoy the car rides and meeting people. Chloe and Claire were in the cart and Casey was on a leash and I was holding Charm because she started to cry when I put her in the cart. We barely got in the door when this lady comes up to me and says I have one of those teacups. Charm is tiny still but I hope she get around her sister size, she's between 2.8 to 3 lbs now and she'll be 6 months next week. I'm hoping she's a late bloomer. My other girls are perfect they are 5 and 5.5 lbs and still growing and my Maltese little guy Casey is 7 lbs and he's perfect to and ALL of them are adorable. The rude lady completely ignored my other dogs even with them wagging their little tails all happy like they always do when someone comes up to us. I started to just smile and walk away and she starts telling me again that she just purchased her teacup for $2000 and she's like Charm but smaller it's 8 weeks old she said. I told her their is no such thing as a teacup Yorkie, then she told me the lady she bought it from told she if it got over 2 lbs she could bring it back it that was guarantied to stay small. Who could take a pup back just because it's to big. That is heartless she should love it no matter what. People like that are nuts they just want a tiny dog to says my dog is tiny like it is special because of it little size. Then she whips out she cell phone as I start walking away and says see see isn't he cute. I HATE people like that. This time I just kept walking grrrr. |

| I work at PetSmart, and let me tell you. THOSE PEOPLE DRIVE ME BONKERS. I actually have a regular (customer) who comes in and he's a pretty nice dude. BUT... he has "one of those teacup" yorkies. It's adorable and sweet. I mentioned to him that I had a yorkie and he asked how much she weighed and I said about 6lbs. And he got all, "Oh, but mine is a TEACUP." Seriously, dude? -_- |

| One of the things that pisses me off is when people come up to my puppies and only pay attention to Charm. We get that a lot when were out. They are what I call close minded teacup nuts. All my babies are special adorable and unique. |

| I hate that!!! I walk Nala around this 4 mile loop with my best friend and her black lab and people will just ignore the lab because Nala is a "tiny dog" Now don't get me wrong, she's a little attention whore and LOOOOOOOVES the attention, but some people are so focused on size. GRRR |

| I have been looking at local breeders, and I called a lady that was recommended to me. At first she sounded reliable, until I asked her if she bred any other kind of dogs and she said she only bred teacup yorkies. I kindly told her I would not be buying a dog from her, but ooh man what I would have liked to say to her.... Some people. I would rather keep looking and know I get the right puppy then get someone from a 'teacup yorkie' breeder. Two words. B.S. (Even though I must admit I JOKINGLY tell my mom that she had a thing for the teapot yorkies ) |

| People are soooo dumb. It's always smaller is better, but I've seen it occasionally with the giant breeds too, like Mastiff's and Great Danes, whose is bigger. Either way it's stupid. Jackson always gets duped when he's with his little yorkie friends Nala and Bandit for attention but he doesn't care LOL he'd prefer to just be left alone anyways! But I do think it's funny. Oh and if you want a dog to stay under 2lbs as an adult... why not just get a guinea pig? or a hamster?

Or a stuffed animal. Maybe it's just me, but those teeny, tiny dogs scare the crud out of me. I would always be afraid that the might break something if they sneezed too hard. My mom's dog, Oliver, is about 4.5 pounds and I always feel like I'm going to hurt him when I hold him. I much prefer giving hugs to my 7 and 10lb babies.

| I live in a predominately big dog area so when people see Gatsby at 6 pounds they are like wow he is soo tiny that is when tell them that bad people breed them even smaller and they are sickly i had one man turn to his daughter and tell her they wear going to weigh her puppy before they got it and if that weight charted below 5 pounds she had to pick a bigger one

| During my search I found a "Teacup" breeder, only "Teacups". While yes, they where beautiful puppies and the parents too...she aggravated me because I told her there was no such thing, and of course she argued. Then 2 of the breeders I called, when I asked the weight of the parents they told me "Well they are not the teacups". Indeed not standard either, why are people breeding above the standard? 2 breeders I contacted gave me that same answer, the the sire and dam where between 9-11 lbs! Not that I want a "teacup" I do want a STANDARD. Ugh. Ignorance never fails.

I had my biggest boy with me at Lowe's the other day when a male employee came up to us and told me.. my wife and I have a teacup yorkie. So I said I don't drink tea only coffee. Gave me a funny look as I walked away.

| its EXACTLY the same with my kids! bambi (and kuki) is now over 2 yrs old and bam only weighs 3.03lbs and when i have them all out together, everyone gets ignored bar bambi! even though shes the shyest of the lot when we are out- dexx will even sometimes cry because he's getting ignored but because he is a larger chi he gets completely overlooked (same with missy) and kuki will Maybe get a hello, but its all about the 'teacup' hugs! i had a lovely lady call me last time missy was expecting (shes bambi n kukis momma) and after over an hour on the phone and the convo we had when i gave her my number, she then added, 'so, if my pup gets over 2.5lbs you'll take it back and refund me then?' this was of course after me explaining all about 'teacups' but ohhhe angered me! but of course, for explaining this again, i was rude, arrogant and ignorant- what with ME not knowing enough about my breed!
