Yorkie Talker | All ears ! Hi to all of you! This is my first first first post. My yorkie, Moe just turned 8 months Sep 26. I had him neutered just now because here in Manila (Philippines), neutering is a "huh? But why?" thing. It's a good thing my vet is pro-neutering. That's not my main problem. THIS ONE IS ! I am really really really worried because his ears aren't up. And my vet doesn't want to clip. Does it mean that he'll never have erect ears ? Is it too late to tape cardboard triangles inside to support them? HELP HELP HELP. |

| Never even consider clipping. You can try the cardboard to see if it will work. Another thing that helps is shaving the hair on the ears. That will take some of the load off of them. Welcome to YT!

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Look on youtube or google "taping yorkie ears" for directions on how to try and tape them up. He may be too old at this point for it to work. Even if it doesn't work, floppy eared yorkies are still cute.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Hi and welcome to YT. I wouldnt recommend you clipping them but as yorkieusa mentioned, trimming the fur on the ear can help as sometimes the fur can be heavy and weigh the ear down. Some yorkies ears stand some dont, it is a flaw but dosnt stop them being gorgeous. My yorkie is only 19 weeks but her ears dont stand either.

| Clip???? OMG NO. I never heard of doing that to yorkies, and especially at 8 months old. I have one with ears up and one with ears down. I actually think that my Coco with down ears is more adorable. You can try taping them. There is a lot of information out there that will direct you on how to do it and for how long. Your dog will hate it though and will do everything possible to get them loose. Good luck. |
